Past 200

Man Alive!
Things are really moving now. We're beyond 200 and still going.
It's a good while since I stopped by to say hello to myself so I thought it polite to do so whilst I was in the neighbourhood.
I'm getting healthier by the day, albeit more and more knackered.
We're competing in teams on a 'Snakes and Ladders' based exercise regime and my team hit a square with rowing on it for the third day running. How I loathe running. Still, there is the consolation that I can watch a video whilst I'm doing it. Pity I've seen all the ones we have at least once.
So long, then
Klicks to cover before bed.

Seq 100 again
Posted Oct 27, 2001
I reached Seq 100 again, although in less auspicious circumstances and without recourse to a helicopter in the immediate future. The food is okay though and we have satellite TV (albeit the 400 mediocre channels of the North American media) so I can watch old basketball games and buy useless junk over the phone anytime I like. Yee-hah.

I did it.
I reached Sequence 100.
Oh bliss. Now I can relax and wait for crewchange.

Flippin' in the No Mores
Posted Jul 16, 2001
Countdown has begun and I'm in the No More zone. No More weekly reports. Next it's No More drills, followed by No More weekends followed by No More shifts and finally the helicopter. I go home in exactly 1 week. Until then it's a continuum of banging my head against a brick wall (figuratively). Fortunately, my colleague is an excellent example of a human being and understands this.
Noone could decide on a convincing video tonight so I decide to come and talk to the computer whilst my washing whirs. I've been doing a lot of flipping between work tasks today and now I'm flipping between the computer and the washing machine (the thing has a totally unpredictable cycle, so you have to watch it).

Gross Point Blank

John Cusack at his finest. I watched it again. Probably about the 15th time but the plot is so funny, the soundtrack so evocative and the human observation so raw that it stands repeat viewings. Minnie Driver looks every inch the old flame that you regretted finishing with. At least, she does to me...
Where did the 1980's go? I remember them like a hazy dream which almost totally evapourates in the moment of waking, but what you do remember about it is good. One of my colleagues, younger by 10 years and fresh out of university correctly guessed my age at the second go. I hate it when that happens. Most people guess younger. I guess she had clues from my comments about musical tastes.
I laughed a lot today.
