So I've neglected my journal since January, that's pretty bad form on my part. I'm surprised it hasn't got fed up of waiting for me and slipped off down the pub to drown its sorrows. Could it be that I have actually done absolutely nothing since January? It could, but it isn't. Actually I'm just far too lazy to write. If I wasn't too lazy I could come up with a dazzling report on the fantastic time I had at the Robert Rankin book launch on Saturday and perhaps persuade anyone daft enough to scroll down to my journal, to start reading this great man's books now. But I am too lazy, so I won't.

smiley - biggrin : in a primary school; Although I'm doing secondary PGCE, to teach 11 to 16 year olds, with specialism in 16+ "A" level biology, there is a placement at a primary school, to start the course off. Its just observation and the like, although I did help out a little in teh class (today). smiley - smiley I made it in today, and it was really good smiley - smiley I can't believe what these kids are being taught now; The group I was with today were all about eight years old, and this morning they were doing Grammer! smiley - wow : Something I believe they used to teach to pupils, but didn't hardly touch at anything like the deapth they were doing, when I was at school. smiley - smiley One of the pupils I was "helping", was smiley - wowsmiley - wow : The class had to write a passage of text in great detail about one very small aspect of their summer hols: And this pupil came up with a sentence that was so smiley - wowsmiley - wow : I'd never have been able to write like he did when I was that age, possibly another budding author smiley - smileysmiley - smileysmiley - erm the Art in the afternoon was a little tedious for me, not ever having any talent in painting/drawing etc smiley - biggrin and I'm back in on Thursday smiley - smileysmiley - smiley And, this is really strange.... It was commented on that I was probably one of the smartest looking (dress wise), in teh school smiley - ermsmiley - erm Which I find very strange as I don't normally get recognised for dressing smart, and generally teh opposite :"Wow; you are the most badly dressed person I've ever seen", would be amore normal description smiley - laughsmiley - laugh But, I guess wearing a suit and tie can evoke this kind of response smiley - ermsmiley - erm Maybe I was a little over smart, it is a primary school after all, and I'm sure I look like a member of teh Italian Mafia when I'm wearing my black suit, white shirt and black tie and black shoes smiley - erm I think the large beer gut and pony tail slightly add to the smiley - erm something smiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - smileysmiley - biggrin

smiley - hug I'm so glad it went well and you were able to get out of bed smiley - smileyIt sounds like that pupil uses better English than we do. What is grammar, by the way? smiley - biggrin I bet one look at you and those kids wouldn't dare misbehave smiley - run Have an smiley - ale or two. What are you up to tomorrow? smiley - yikes I'm back to college on Thing for a test I know nothing about.

Hey, Deep Black, that makes 3 people to have read my journal, this must be some kind of record smiley - laugh I've read 12 books. 4/5 of the Brentford 'trilogy', the Armagedon Trilogy, the Cornelius books, Dance of the Voodoo Handbag and Greatest Show of Earth. Something has gone wrong at the moment though because I'm readng Jane Eyre.

wats jane air? smiley - biggrin : Getting up early doesn't normally bother me, but its all about patturns of sleep, and recently the patturn has been go to bed 3 am or later, rise the next day, sometime, smiley - biggrin The younger, primary school kids are more likely to misbehave with me, cause they are more mischevious, and inquisitive, they don't have quite the same understanding of the consequences as do older pupils, probably smiley - ermsmiley - laugh Whats the test thing on <?> smiley - yikessmiley - run

I know what you mean, my sleep pattern is shot. I was reading until 1-30am last night. It's difficult to shift everything back. I'll soon be getting up early enough. I used to like helping out with primary school kids, they might misbehave at times, but grab their attention and they are wonderful.

Job things? smiley - yikessmiley - yikessmiley - smiley : though I'm still not sure about the PhD thing: I was talking (over a few pints), to an immunologist/biology/educational person friend, the other night, and we were smiley - yawn talking about PhD, and that he thinks I should be doing one now, so I can speed up getting my Nobel prize smiley - erm though I'm not convinced he was being serious about that bit smiley - biggrin and I outlined one of my idea's over a PhD project to him smiley - ermsmiley - yawn and I think he and I (I.E., he is going to get me to do it, using his better understanding of how to use the English language), to put together a PhD propersition type thing, and send it off to Uni here to get me PhDing things next year smiley - erm *adds up on fingers...
