introductions: how to introduce yourself and not come accross as a complete cabbage. a failed example.
hello,my username is cheifwhat, it's my napster username. I must have typed in about twenty different names b4 this one was allowed. and it took about 2 months b4 i realized the reason why, (spelling was never a strong point of mine in school), but then i am of the opinion that the 'wordsmiths that be' have got it wrong in this particular case. say it out loud 'chief' 'cheif', feel stupid? are people looking at u funny?
I would say that we pronounce the 'i' not at all and if, if it's to be heard at all, it comes well into the 'e' sound, not b4 it.
So, like that five percent of athiests who believe the rest are deluding themselves ( if 'believe' is the right word ), i am going to stand firm in my assertion in the hope that the rest of the English speaking planet comes round to my way of thinking. I may die before this happens, but that's a risk i'm willing to take..dammit.
ps: has anyone read any of those lovely books by Scott McCloud?
