Hi Emma/Muppet - I'm Elly, Muse of Care. My job's to offer you my help, but I can see you've managed well on your own! Which is I find your hobbies very similar to mine, tho I don't analyze ANYTHING, 'specially not for aliving, and I like Italian food (easiest to cook
). So- if you feel chatty - drop me a line...
Cheers!

Hello! Guardian of Ice Cream Stands, huh? Sounds like fun
And you live in a Kibbutz? Cooooooooooooooooooooool.
Pete and I live in a 3 bedroomed end-of-terrace house which we bought last year and are in the process of ...er...
decorating/tidying/cleaning up. But we did have the kitchen done up and so that's lovely and I can cook to my heart's content
Hi Emma!

Some people are just lucky! This place's so D**n small- there's hardly any room for walkin' around, never mentioning the Ki(tchen) Oh, well- can't complain- no rent!!
We don't walk around
Muppet Posted Mar 27, 2001
Our house might sound big, but since every available space it cluttered up, it doesn't feel it! We still haven't unpacked all the boxes since we moved in, and it does seem that any untended flat surface becomes a repository for things which don't have a home. At the moment we can see some of the floor in the living room, which is a big improvement. There are people coming for dinner tomorrow night, though, and so we'll do our mad 1 hour tidying up session so its presentable for them - always assuming they're not silly enough to open the door to the spare room. I don't hold myself responsible for avalanches...!
I think it's safe to say we are messy people. Hopefully its a sign of intelligence

*sticking her nose into conversations that don't concern her (but that never stopped her before)*
Hi Emma! (And hi Elly too!) Welcome, bienvenue (or uh, however you stpell it) and G'day!
My theory on the matter is that I'm way too intelligent to be tidy. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. So it looks like the decision (so far) is unanimous
"And I am unanimous in that!"
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
Hello! Welcome! No such thing as poking your nose in round here, the door is always open.
The subject line of this note is a quote (or possible a slight mis-quote) from Mrs. Slocombe in "Are You Being Served?". For those of you who missed this classic British tv sitcom, it was set in an old fashioned dept. store, and Mrs. Slocombe was a middle-aged matronly woman (although, I think, there was some doubt about her being a Mrs) who had hair that changed colour every week.
It's still repeated every so often. Old tv shows don't die, they move to daytime slots....
I'm wittering again, aren't I?
Wibble.
Time for a nice cup of tea. But I can't have tea, can I? I have to have .
Who can I complain about that to, I wonder?
"And I am unanimous in that!"
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
Well, you can complain about it to ME! I'm the right Muse for that! Wow, I love mrs. Slocombe (or however you spell THAT!) and Captain Peacock was excellent too! I deffinately can't drink tea now, it's too hot. And SMoB, sweety, you are always welcome at any of my conversation forums
. As you can see- this is a messy reply- am I a genius, or what?
Tea Time
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
Yep, definitely a genius . We should start a special club for us messy geniuses.
Tea is the perfect drink for anytime, anyplace, as far as I'm concerned. When you're cold it warms you up, when it's warm it makes you warmer, then sweatier, then cooler, when you're sleepy it wakes you up and when you're not it makes you sleepy!
But then I am English, so I would think that
Tea Time
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
But I'm not. drinkin' tea makes me feel sick, because that's what I had to drink as a child, when I got sick. I either drink it wake up or get sleepy, mostly at winter time. I agree- we should open a mess club, and a support group for tidy people. That'll bring crouds!
Mess
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
There's an article in this place somewhere about how to cut down on the amount of housework you have to do. Maybe we should call that support group you mentioned "How to live in peace with your mess" or something like that.
My other half, Pete is very bright. And very messy. So there's more support for our theory.
Shame about the tea. My mum used to make me drink tonic water when I was sick. Usually made me sicker.
Mess
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
Never drank Tonic but it sounds ! My bf pretends to be idy, but he's as bad as I am! Maybe worse....
Well- how shall we call our Messy haven? Actually- maybe we should call it MESSY HAVEN!
I like the sound of that, don't you?
Messy Haven
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
I like it! Big
How do we make places and get people to come and visit? (And hopefully leave some mess <laughing>.
We could make it like that planet in the real Guide, where they stopped you taking anything with you when you left due to terrible erosion.
Oh dear. Wittering again. Good job it's Friday.
Messy Haven
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
Well, as far as I know, and I don't know MUCH, places are actually entries (not edited by anyone). I'll ask around. That'll be a good place for my library, too. Imagine: pile after pile of all kinda books and magazines. My cat's lying on its back, his legs all facing different directions, his mouth slightly open, snoring abit and looking extremely funny! I just love him!

Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
Say, we'll be FOUNDERS, ESTABLISHERS, of something! Yay Elly and Emma!!!
Messy Haven
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
Yay! Go Elly!
Say, did you ever read Judge Dread comics or see the movie? I saw the movie, but not the comics. Anyway, "Messy Haven" sounds like something out of Judge Dread. In the movie, they have a block war going on in Heavenly Haven.
Ours sounds like a much cosier place
Messy Haven
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
No, I don't believe I did... Here's what will do: I'll write an entry- you'll make comments- I'll change it and so on... untill we're both happy with it. OK?
Messy Haven
Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
Sounds good to me!
We'll have to find some clutter to bring in and start the place off.
As a complete coincidence, someone's written a piece on Judge Dread (the comic strips) which is currently previewing out at the front door . And no, I'm not winking coz it was me. It wasn't. I don't know anything about comics.
Messy Haven
Yael Smith Posted Mar 30, 2001
Me neither. Thy're very uncommon here. Well, clutter isn't a problem- we can just spill the contents of my place, as is, into the page.

Muppet Posted Mar 30, 2001
I'm gonna bring my duvet. And maybe a few books. What are your favourite books? One that I've read over and over is "The Far Pavilions" by M.M.Kaye. I've even read it in Spanish, although I didn't think the translation did it justice .
