Painting complete - nearly

Well Annie liked it! But I've fiddled a bit with it and now I don't. I need to fiddle a bit more and get it back to acceptable. Come and have a look by following the links from [url removed by moderator]I've started the extension of my art page to include the series. Did it all with html too. Getting clever.....

Idiot!

Success - caught the mouse. The trap was sprung this morning. I put it in the cage for release this evening. Releasing a mouse in broad daylight is a bit unfair. I felt a bit mean capturing it!! Not for long though. Stupidly I let it escape again whilst trying to encourage it out of the trap into the cage. God what an idiot I am! The thing is... it's been a mouse sort of day, because going to put the rubbish bag out I noticed that it had the signs of mouse activity and sure enough when I looked there was one inside. Now how it got in there is a mystery. I must have put it in there. Which leads me to wonder if there had been a youngster which I had inadvertently bundled up when cleaning out the cage!!! It was still alive and happily living off bits of bread etc whilst nesting amongst the plastic shreddings. I say "happily" but it can't have been that happy trapped inside the bin! That one is now somewhere in the garden. You may wonder if I'm worried about being infested, but I'm not. These are woodmice not house mice. They don't live in houses normally. It's entirely my fault for bringing the first one home.

terpsichory

Went dancing last night! No... not clubbing... dancing! Ballroom stuff. First time Jim and I have had a chance to see if we can really quickstep. The demos were brilliant. Apparently there's a dance there every two weeks. Has been for ages. We never knew, all the time we were wanting to find somewhere to put our newly acquired skill into practice.

A brief encounter

I met the mouse tonight - in the bathroom. The first sign was when I moved some clothes off the floor and a neatly chiselled peanut rolled out. Aha! I thought!. There she was - underneath the clothes. She sat there and looked at me. When I put my hand out to her - she came and sniffed my fingertip.

Manners Class

Well that's what some of the teachers are calling it. I prefer to call it courtesy and awareness class - and I've been running it now at lunchtimes for a couple of weeks. I do believe I am beginning to see the glimmer of a response. Dec, who swore he could not stop rocking his chair for more than a few seconds yesterday, today managed to sit absolutely still and listen to my entire introduction to the class! Adam managed to wait until everyone was out of his way before he came to sit down, instead of pushing past, tripping over and kicking people on the way.
