h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well everything started out well. I got up, got ready and left home at 0615 to get the 0715 bus. Got to the bus stop in plenty of time, got the bus and off we were to Glasgow.
The bus was due to arrive at 1000 and as my train wasn't due to leave until 1155 that seemed to be all good.
That is until we got to a small place called Bridge of Orchy, a small village consisting of a hotel, a church and a few houses. It was there that the bus decided that one of it's tyres was going to go bang.
This led to us waiting for a replacement bus, which never arrived. In the end we were herded onto the 0915 bus. This bus gets into Glasgow at 1205, which is bad enough, except it doesn't, it gets there at 1225, half an hour after my train has left.
Rather annoyed I try to get the bus company to sort some way of getting me to Hull. They refused and after almost 2hrs of me getting angrier and angrier I decided that a) I needed to get on my way if I was going to make it to Hull and b) if I didn't leave I was going to smash the face of the pointy headed hole of a customer services rep through the ornate glass coffee table they had in the reception area....before giving him a good hard kick in the man bits.

So I went and spent the very last of my money on a new rail ticket to Hull. On the train I popped on here and had a quick read and made a few posts before I hit Doncaster, where I had to change to a local train.

At this point more fun and general hilarity ensued as the uniformed numpty on the platform told me to get on the wrong train and I headed off away from Hull. I got off at the next station and waited for the correct train, which eventually got me to Hull at about 2000.

I then located the correct bus, which left the train station at 2020 and, 1hr later, I was getting off said bus ASDA and walking over to the hotel where I finally checked in at about 2130.

Now I just had to wait until the next day when other peeps would be arriving.

did they arrive ??

Blimey, what a nightmare. Still, all worth it in the end, it was great seeing you again.

Nah prof, none of the others turned up, but it wasn't a total waste as a bunch of escaped loonies from the local mental hospital and this gorgeous brunette were there over the weekend. Unfortunately this smoking hottie managed to get bladdered, on the sat, and did her leg in by falling down the fire escape.

aw shucks! and not one of us kissed her leg better
