for a while I was trying think of name from this review of the fifth year of the noughties, because there enough news and sport reviews and you know all about my eye operation. I wanted tell you about cds/dvds I bought(released) in the fifth year of the noughties. in alphatical order.
afro celt sound system - volume 5: anatomic (cd)
if you want to discover something new you are 10 yrs too late, but do not worry you can still listen to one of the greatest bands, atleast in my opinion. they making mix of different musical styles of the world, but 2 are very distingtive sound. the African and Celtic misic both have very old history, but afro celts know how to intragate them into a new coat. the musician are from Africa to Celtic parts and rest of the world!
color calm - by design (dvd)
make from your tv a piece of art. images created by artists: Irma Boom, John Meada and Peter Savile with interesting music: Michel Nyman, Ryuichi Sakamoto and New Order

the dhol foundation - drum-believable (cd)
the founder of this drum school and band is member/regular of afro celts. dhol is Indian drum with very original recognisable sound. again it is very worldly music with for example Spanish guitar.
gorilaz - demon days (cd+dvd)
this not band with image problem, because they are cartoons, but musicians are real. be aware the lyrics are for the bunnies.
Jean Michel Jarre - in China (2dvd + cd)
my all time favourite artists. concert was in 2004.
Howard Jones - revolution of the heart (cd)
the best Howard Jones cd in ages. the songs stay in your mind, because he wants you think.
nine horses - snow borne sorrow (cd)
simply good project of David Sylvian and his brother Steve Jansen and Burnt Friedman with guest Ryuichi Sakamoto, Arve Henriksen and Stina Nordenstam.
Niyaz - Niyaz (cd)
this one advice by afro celts fan. I like to listen to other music cultures, because music we can enjoy even tho we might not understand language.

Greetings Pheloxi!
Here's hoping that 2006 can be a year of peace and understanding. Failing that let's hope that folk can at least learn mutual respect for each other despite their prejudices!

I doubt my neighbours think so! I seem to anoy them by parking our two cars in front of our house. It just doesn't leave enough room for their 3 cars plus visitors, even though there's 50 yards of open field to park alongside. Perhaps they think VFRgals disabled badge means she should be disabled from parking outside her front door.
Anyways, I'm proud of my city of birth, my county, my country and my kingdom. But mostly I'm proud to be European. Our continent has such a wide and diverse background, many different languages and customs. Wouldn't it be great if we could adopt the best bits from each other and control the bad? Imagine being frank and open like the Dutch and Germans , who always speak directly. A 10 minute walk lasting half an hour because you greet your neighbours and chat along the way, like the french and spanish. Remained calm like the swiss. Partied like the Italians. Or could live alongside a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds like the english.
If I could have one wish come true it would be understanding. I don't have to like someone to understand them. But understanding leads to respect and respect leads to peace. Something we could all do with.
A peaceful, healthy and happy New Year to you all!
