right i just read your entry on screen readers. i dont "need" one as such but they do make my life so much easier. my question is, Do you know if the "speech" on newer Apple Macs can be set up in such a way as to "echo" what i am typing as i am typing it? if this is possible then i wont need to get any extra software for my new mac,if and when i get one. if you cant answer this then it doesnt matter but if you can help then it would be much appreciated. I dont know if you read my journal or not but i kmight be doing some teacher training soon!

Don't know that much about macs really, but I've heard of the.... err whatever its called speech they now have built in, which I think* will probalby do what you want in terms of speaking out what you're typing...
and yes I did see in your journal about the teacher training Good luck with it all

thanks, i asked a friend who runs macs but he never bothered to get back to me! i might make a trip into the apple store and ask them!
dont know why i prefer macs, vista is nasty, i will put up with XP mif needs be but vista just confuses me!
eep! cant beleive i might actually get to be a teacher!!! it has been my goal for quite a while! was going to go into some kind of teaching after my other degree anyway, but if ii can get this one then its a much shorter route!
