I know, my presence on the threads is irregular and of varying quality...I can follow some development you seem to be involved in (new job...how's that going? New animals here & there) and some threads (sarcasm, some beatles-related-stuff) but my connection to the Web is too slow to keep up...it will be better a few weeks from now when we're having a ADSL-connection! In the meanwhile Ill try to keep up with the conversations...
Greetings anyway and good luck on your version of Noah's Ark!

lol - smiley - ta.

I love broadband access... I don't know how I lived without it before.

I have to admit that sometimes I'm completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of posts in the various threads that I visit and post sporadically in some subjects myself just because I don't want to have to read through everything.

I am glad you are doing well and hope to run into you again.smiley - biggrin

I'll respond here...I don't want to burden the sarcastic thread by something that is actually about something..
How are you? I never read the follow-ups on the job-interviews; do you have another job somewhere? Have your various animal eaten each other or are they living in peace and quiet together?
Here it's a wonderful autumn; thanks to the rising global temperatures (which will cause this country to flood somewhere in the next 20 years) it's the warmest october in 100 years and today it's around 22 degrees celcius...maybe over there with you that would be a bit nippy, but over here we run to the woods and drive to the sea!
Have a smiley - tea
and greetings!

I am doing pretty well. No job yet, but still have a couple of prospects. I've another interview on Thursday (round 2). Other than actively submitting resumes, I try not to think about being unemployed because it makes me feel sick .

We actually had to find another home for Buddy - he and Bones were getting into alpha male struggles.

Bella still won't come downstairs, and Bones still herds Sammy cat. Other than that, all is well.

Tonight is my last class to finish my degree, and I must say that I'm pretty relieved to be at this point. I've been going to school at night for the last 3 years and it was started to be a real drag!

Our lows have been hovering around 23 - 26 c, and our highs have been in the upper 30's. This is the reason people live here!

I'm glad you are doing well!!! I hope to run into you again soon.

BTW - I saw perfect sarcasm in your last few posts.smiley - erm

Hello Baw! smiley - hug How are you doing? Are you ready for smiley - santa?

I decided it would be better to go ahead and greet you from this fine venue, rather than antagonize LW into further inane and incoherent ramblings.

Nice to meet you in this quiet corner of h2g2! smiley - smiley
Well....it's quite busy on the job (not too busy to write the occasional bit in this) so I'm really in a christmas-mood yet. A few collegues over here have found other jobs so our team is a bit drained (see? jobsearching & -finding is not all about wine, roses and Mantovani you know!). Well I can't imagine how it is to have christmas in a warm climate like yours...do you still have a christmas tree with some snow in it?

We actually have a very varied terrain. Phoenix is in a Valley (and doesn't get snow TG), however, the Northern areas of the State are 6000+ feet above sea level and have snow most of the winter season.

I do have an smiley - xmastree up, but the only white on it is the glass decorations upon it and the candy canes.

Since I finally Found a job, I am very busy trying to organize the Continuity Binder (kind of like a job how-to instruction) for my replacement. They haven't hired anyone as yet, so their original plans to have him/her work with me prior to my departing is not likely to happen.

I am glad you are well!smiley - biggrinsmiley - smooch

Do the Phoenicians use horizontal Christmas-trees?
It must be a lot easier doing the top, so it must be very practical!
We have a very boring terrain in the Neths, which means we have in general the same weather everywhere.
In the Christmas-period it's mostly drizzly rain and 5 degrees celcius and it's dark from 16:30 until 8:30. If it's snowing we go bonkers and try to make snowmen from slushy snowbroth.
It may not sound very attractive, but that's how we do it!smiley - smiley
It's the season!smiley - kiss

Hmm, well, you folk are far more North than we are. In the depth of Phoenix winter, our average temperature is 9 c. I must admit that my smiley - xmastree stands vertically, although a new and somewhat interesting fad has popped up here - upside down smiley - xmastree. smiley - huh

Many people find it difficult to find the Xmas spirit w/ a lack of the white stuff, but having always lived in warm climates, I find great comfort in driving down the road and seeing the lights smiley - disco strung across palm and citrus trees.smiley - biggrin

Occasionally, I do like the thought of a nice hot cup of cocoa, while gathered around a nice fire, looking out upon a white landscape.

I keep forgetting the time-difference between here (17:24 and ticking away) and over there; is it 10:24 or something like that?
Did you have a party of some kind? With family/friends?

Over here it was a family-thing with fireworks outside, scared animals indoors (a parrot with a fit, but he/she (never found out the exact sex of the poor thing and it's almost 30!)recovered nicely) and a late night, so we're recovering by eating old and cold 'oliebollen' which is a roundish donut-like object with currants and raisins in it and washing it away with tea. Combined with the late night it gets close to this smiley - ill image, but it's all part of the tradition!

It's 9:30 am at the moment. We have similar traditions...

Hung out with family, lit small fireworks, played poker, and ate and drank too much. (Actually, I didn't, I was the designated driver.) At midnight we did a smiley - bubbly toast, sang auld lang syne, and each shared a New Year's Resolution.

I hope you and your family are blessed with a wonderful new year filled with love, warmth, and joy.smiley - hugsmiley - kiss

I am glad you are doing well! I understand how busy the job thing is... now that I'm settled in my new position, I find that I really ahve little time for my hootoo goofing off.smiley - sadface However, I still try to keep up with the postings, even though I don't post as often myself.

We've hardly had a flu season - no rain for 110 days in a row now, and our average daily temperatures have been in the upper 20's, even hitting low 30's last week. That's unusually warm, even for Arizona. it bodes for a very hot, long summer. Most people are suffering from allergiessmiley - erm.

I do miss seeing you around, but am glad life is passing nicely for you!smiley - hug
