Honestly, I hope I get married again. I think their is a level of emotional and spiritual connectedness that only comes through marriage. I have to admit that I'm spooked by statistics that indicate the failure rate of 2nd marriages is significantly worse than that of 1st marriages.
Some days its just hard to see how my family and I would integrate another person into our lives, 24/7. I have a 3 yo who is a beautiful, sweet, loving terror, and an 11 yo about to go through puberty. It seems like alot to expect for someone to try and step in and walk through the minefield of sorta-parenthood. Add in the fact that the X is still actively involvedd in their lives, and it just seems like a situation that favors a negative outcome.
Time will tell of course. I really love Pat - he's a good man, and for now, our current arrangement works well. I don't know when I'll want more.

Sounds like you're really happy with the way things are at the momment and I can understand you wanting to make sure that it would work second time around, having been through it all before, and with having children too. I think it is harder being married in a way because it is something that you have to work hard at constantly, and both ppl have to want it. If you're happy as you are then that's all that matters, so good luck to you. And I'm sure you'll know when the right time comes along to get married, your happy that's all that matters
