It was awesome!! The "trip" was a marching band tour around Lake Michigan...we won some competitions and saw some really cool places. But I'm back now, so you'll be seeing much more of Apollo

COOL!!!
I was in marching band... my brother took a band trip to Michigan a NUMBER of years ago!!! He played sax, then bass drum, then clarinet for two years... I think...
I didn't play anything in marching band, because my instruments were piano and oboe at that time...!!! Imagine that!!!
I was in Color Guard!!! YAY!!! I fell in love with them at first sight... and had to wait four years to get in...
Then I was captain my last two years(give or take a few months...)!!!
YAY!!!
What do you play!??
Dragonfly... the coolest Muse...
Apollo Posted Jul 16, 2001
A guard captain huh? Not an easy job...especially if the band can't keep a tempo
I'm a trumpet player. Yes, the loud obnoxious ones that insist on playing higher than everyone else Though I enjoy playing jazz more than most marching music, nothing beats performing a show and hearing the roar of applause after! In fact, last year I had the lead part in a trumpet trio that opened the show. The final performance of the year in St. Louis, we played it so beautifully that we got a standing ovation in the first 30 seconds of the show!!! I almost started crying right there... what can I say, I get emotional over this stuff
Then we won the competition!!
But I just gave my last show 3 days ago. I'm gonna miss it...
So what band did you perform in?
Dragonfly... the coolest Muse...
Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Jul 16, 2001
YES... I know the passion for that you are speaking of!!! THERE IS NOTHING like a Music High!!!
Unfortunately, my marching band didn't do that great-- little funding... I performed with the Grand Junction High School Marching Band of Colorado!!! YAY!!!
Being Guard Captain wasn't hard because of the band-- it was hard because of the teenage girls I had to deal with... !!!!

Apollo Posted Jul 17, 2001
Oh geez...don't get me started on teenage girls
I believe we've only done one performance in Colorado....a parade in Denver last year, sometime in late June. And it was soooooo cold....
Our band has always been pretty good, probably the best in the Southern half of Illinois. Of course the big Chicago bands alwys kick our butt But as long as you enjoy the show, nothing else really matters...

WOW!!! I could've almost seen you in the parade!!! No, I didn't go...
::Sniffles::
Yeah... teenage girls... like teenage boys... stinky!!! OOPS!!! Sorry...
You are lucky that you get to travel around with your band!!! YAY!!! We never got out of the state... hahahahaa... of course, we weren't as bad off as other, smaller schools...
I think it'd be cool to go back and me a Color Guard instructor.... yeah... But I don't want to live in Grand Junction...
Best in the Southern half of Illinois, eh!?? Do you play any N'allins Jazz!!?? well, yes I know you like jazz... but N'allins Jazz is different...
::sings::
Do Drop in!!!
To the Dew Drop Inn!!!
But don't go down to the dungeon!!!

Hello again. In light of the current wartime situation, and the recent involvement of the original Greek gods, I have the following offer to make on your behalf.
Because you are a muse, and have refrained from harming the Musehome and have promised not to harm random muses, I feel you are worth my thought and care.
In the next week, if I see that you harm no muse at all(Cat Sympathisers included), I can convince Zeus to leave you alone for the duration of the War, under the condition that you have no muse AT ALL, and no Musehome property. Of course, if you upset Zeus on your own, I'm afraid you are on your own. He's got a short temper and he doesn't like this "Mount Olympus" concept, because he's convinced you don't give him any credit for the original Mount Olympus.
I can distract him for a length of time with pretty nymphs, but if you don't resolve this personal issue with your father their is not much else that can be done.
What do you think!??

Apollo Posted Sep 7, 2001
I see you expertly danced around my main purpose.... are you willing to join the Pantheon??
I will agree to your terms, musemother... for one week. I will not harm ANY muses (except in the BoG, but that isn't a muse or a cat/dog thing). However, if you are still backing down from the pantheon I am afraid I cannot release poor Cleo

Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Sep 7, 2001
Why is it so important I join the Pantheon!??
I won't participate in any of the battles, and you've seen me around Hades... Herrrrmmm....
I don't think it's proper for me to be a Muse, especially the Musemother, AND a god at the same time!!!
Dragonfly... the coolest Muse...
Apollo Posted Sep 7, 2001
Well, honestly, I want all of my friends on the Pantheon
Wait... how's this!! I list you on the pantheon AS the Musemother!! there is already a link to the musehome on Olympus!!

True... there's still the issue of you being weak at the sight of a kitty... I think I can reverse that, but then I'll face the wrath of Zeus. I might later join Mount Olympus. I'd rather give you back your courage and valour. I don't want my membership to look like a) a military strategy, and even though Olympus is big, b)I'm not comfortable being THAT close to any Doggie Haven.

Apollo Posted Sep 7, 2001
I guess it's a stalemate for now, then Out of respect, I will withdraw from the musehome. But I'm keeping Cleo

Are you treating Cleo well!??
And I just realised something.... from what I wrote last post:
True... there's still the issue of you being weak at the sight of a kitty... I think I can reverse that
HHAhahaaa.... does that mean you'll be weak at the sight of a puppy!??

My brother's weak at the sight of any young little furry creature. He takes them all home... ::sigh:: A smelly life...
