Hi Elektra and thanks for that! That gives me hope for the forests of Ethiopia. There's been massive destruction as the article says … and the thing is, those forests have many species unique to them, so we can't replace them after they're gone. Those church forests therefore preserve the seeds that can be used to restore the forests again in the rest of the country!
