Hi Elektra, thanks very much for these! I love dragonflie and damselflies very much as well. We're fortunate to be blessed with a rich diversity of these here in South Africa and I've wonderful memories of them going back to my childhood. When we had garden ponds, with fish and frogs, we also got these dragonfly nymphs in them. I loved them - they're somewhat alien-like with those jaws that they can project forward to catch their prey! The local nymphs grow huge, I was even a bit afraid for the small fish/tadpoles on their account. And then after they moult you find their dry husks clinging to the side of the pool ... much like those of cicadas!

I don't know what happened to our cicadas this year---I thought we were in time for the the 17 yr ones this summer but none showed. D is happy about this because those guys really bother him---I am just worried that there were birds that missed out of on their feast.
