Yes and no... I don't pretend to know all that went on, and I think he's lurking, so he may email you personally. But the answer's in the Lifetime Suspension thread (aren't they all?)

Clues to his departure can be found in the LSuspension thread, here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F55683&thread=127664&skip=1080&show=20 (he's only shown as "." (without quotes)!) It became clear that he was irate, and I checked out his page on that day; it *seems* that his Entries were being randomly deleted / moderated (I don't know, but that's what his journal and some of his postings said).

So that's as far as I know. But it's enough. I hope you can get in touch with him...

Hi Fenny and Willem

We were sad to see that HVL deleted his entries. His postings and entries *certainly* weren't being randomly deleted or moderated, we'd never do such a thing. Perhaps you can point me to the posts where you think he said that Fenny? I certainly haven't seen anything like that posted here, and I try to keep track of things.

HVL personally deleted a number of his own entries, including his small but'Modest Proposal', but he very kindly emailed the text to us after he left, because he knew that we wanted to run the plan that he had developed. We've now created an official page that follows his ideas.

HVL was upset when Mark totally screwed up the new stats page, which shows the number of Entries that everyone has written. A bug in the system, meant that some of the figures were wrong first time they were posted up, but that has now been fixed.

Thanks, Peta, but still I'm wondering, was it really only that stats page that upset Hoovooloo? He does seem to have been quite upset, and it seems to small a matter to leave h2g2 over. Hoovooloo's put quite a lot of work into his presence here, work that has been much appreciated by many people. There were his 'light' entries like the one on contact juggling, and the more serious one on conflict avoidance, and the Modest Proposal ... but what pains me most is that he was also doing an entry on multiplicity. You may not know but I/we am also multiple in my/our own way. I think what Hoovooloo did could be very useful in informing people about multiplicity, which I think is necessary and worth the effort. He and I got on very well, and I miss him, and will be very happy to see him back! I hope you're lurking, HVL!

I honestly don't know Willem,

I know that he posted up something to say that he was upset that Mark had got the stats page wrong and that his entries weren't shown on the list. (he wasn't the only one, the list was completely wrong, lots of Researchers entries weren't listed, including most of mine). It's possible that he thought we'd done it deliberately, but we really hadn't it was a genuine mistake and we corrected it as soon as possible.

A lot of people got on well with HVL and would like to see him back here. I hope that he is lurking, and comes back to say hi to you.

He's always welcome to come back any time. Try not to be too upset Willem, he may come back in his own time.

Yeah, maybe it is! Hello! How are you? Maybe I should take a peek at your page to see what you've been up to!

Hmmm, what *have* I been up to? Pretty much just keeping a conversation going with you, in most of the threads! You'll find a new thread going called "Religion - perspectively yours", which I joined after someone new posted in the 'Hate-Hate' thread. Then I've been keeping an eye on the WLC page, and sending greetings to Ben and hvl, and that's about it. So feel free to check my page, but I've really been short and sweet onlin, this week.

The sad part about it is that I don't feel I got much else accomplished this weekend - I've had a nice lazy relaxed weekend, without any hard-to-achieve stuff.
