*yawn*

Utterly knackered, don't know why. Barely able to keep my eyes open all day.
Wedding was completely fab. Really one of the best I've ever been to. The speech with Rafi went well, the dancing was great, the bride looked gorgeous, it was all very romantic and fantastic.
Last night we held a sheva brochos dinner at my parents' place which was fab too, though a little panicky due to several last-minute cancellations.
Oh, and I've told everyone I'm going to San Francisco.

Leg It To The L'Chaim

Right, best man speech just about done, I'm off to get Benny hitched.
(just after one more play of "Britannica"...)

You can't bloody get out of Estonia

Benny and I head to Tottenham Court Road tube, walk past a pretty girl in black kissing a bloke in black outside. We wander down the steps and soon she frantically clatters past us.
"God, that was bloody awful," she says.
"Oh dear," I say. "Tough night?"
"Yeah... had to battle my way out just to get the tube."
"Wanted you to take a taxi with him, did he?"
"Oh, it just didn't end..."
We headed through the tunnel to the ticket machines.
"You looked like you were enjoying yourself back there," said Benny.
She shook her head. "It's a bird thing."

D.I.Z.Z.Y.

Big decisions being taken fast.
Natural inertia attempting to intercede. But there's a sudden urgency trying to push it aside that brought the decision up in the first place.
It doesn't help that there are three girls all pulling me in different directions and making me spin. And I'm not even sure if they're trying. (well, at least one is, and she's winning)

Media: "Britannica" by Bows. Violently shoved Gus Gus out of my head.

"And if I'm dreaming... then why does it seem so contrived?"

bring me my arrows of desire

Phil & Clay's goodbye drink was loads of fun, especially catching up with several people I hadn't seen in a while (most notably Anno "spaceboy" Mitchell who is very cuddly and close friend who talks lots of sense in a wonderfully non-boring way). Biff had come up from Eastbourne and unleashed a stream of amazingly funny stuff... if Quinn had been there she'd have been yelling "WRITE THIS DOWN!" every five minutes. Ended up going back to Jo's place for late food and talking till the early hours... really glad I did. Shared the bus to work from Stoke Newington with her which took an hour, but it was okay even though I felt pretty ill. Got plenty done, though, including winning secound round of phone-tag with the increasingly incompetent Netbanx.

Slept 15 hours on Saturday. Needed it. Still felt tired afterwards when wandering the city with 'Grid, listening to "I Am Kurious Oranj" by The Fall. "I was very let down-uh... by the budget-uh... I was expecting a one million quid handout-uh..."
(Much kudos to The Dancing Tree's musical tastes, btw. Big shout out to the sub-eds massive.)

Sunday was Benny's stag day... he's my best mate, I'm joint best man with Rafi, who arranged clay pigeon shooting in the morning (my shoulder is still aching). I arranged the pals dinner in the evening at Solly's in Golders Green before he and I headed down to Soho for proper late night drinking in seedy dives. Went pretty damn well.

Media: "Dog Is Life/Jerusalem" by The Fall/William Blake. I'll be in Jerusalem in three weeks... Shim's there now. I hope the nice girl calls him again, it's not fair otherwise.
