Hello Again

Did I miss much after the Name Badge competition? (I left before the judging as my 5am start was starting to really lower my IQ)

Not much, as far as I recall. I had to leave fairly soon afterwards in order to catch my train, but I gather a few lingered late enough that they had to be evicted by the management!

It was great to meet you, btw.smiley - ok

I must admit I expected a few people to have to be dragged from the barsmiley - smiley

It was great to meet you as well.smiley - smiley

I must admit to being more than a little nervous about the meet, I'm just glad everyone turned out to be so nice.

Funny how you often meet people at the meet that you've never met online, yet you can miss people you've 'known' for ages because you don't know their faces...

smiley - erm Does that make any sense?

It makes perfect sense, especially given the patchy state of name badge wearing. (I will really make an effort if I come to the summer one, so at least people can realise they don't know who I am without a verbal introduction)

It's one of those odd situations the internet creates...

...I've just noticed from your name you got a mug! Well done. So does that mean someone on your team actually knew the video clip colour question (I didn't even know there was any video clips, there again I didn't seem to know many of the other answers eithersmiley - smiley)

Well, someone knew it, though it definitely wasn't me! I'd never heard of any video facility either - I mean, we're still not allowed photographs.

Badge-wearing is usually more widespread, but then there's usually a page dedicated to the badge competition some time before the event. I think Abi's jury service may have put paid to that.

The question is, was it as spangly as usual? I'm gutted I didn't go, but needs must etc... Maybe I'll turn up to the summer meet avec the first thingite sprogsmiley - winkeye

Well, hopefully next time there will be more badges, it makes putting faces to names so much easier. (Although I can't really talk being one of the badgeless)

To 110315: I thought it was quite a laugh this time and was well impressed with my first meet.

smiley - cuddleI missed you at the Meet, Kaz, and of course Clive didn't make it either, so the Thingite ranks were somewhat diminished! On the other hand, it did spare me a monstous hike trying to find you this time...smiley - winkeye

I think you're right, PSG, badges make things a lot easier - GreyDesk and I were sitting at the next table to Dragonfly (one of my longest-standing hootoo friends) for about half an hour without realising it. Mind you, she's much quieter in RL! I went up to London without my badge after searching everywhere for it. Needless to say, I discovered it about ten minutes after I got home, sitting under my PC's keyboard...

Was this the nifty badge from last year PF? It must have been showing solidarity with Clive and myselfsmiley - biggrin

As for the potter about the serpentine last year, I thought you liked walking?smiley - angelsmiley - whistlesmiley - laugh

Sorry 'bout that though, really.... Told you it'd take me a while to get theresmiley - laugh

I will be going to the summer meet, and I promise to not go walking round any large bodies of water
