free is starting to cost lots.

Hi. I'm p****d. I used
[URL removed by moderator]
to get myself a free URL ([URL removed by moderator]), and now they have written to me asking for me to kindly send them US$ 19 odd to continue to use my FREE domain name service.
Further, I am sick of hotmail constantly losing attachments people take the trouble of sending me. So I now have to switch to using netaddress, and I dont like the domain name they offer (usa.net) cos I am an Indian. Not that I would care to have india.net either...
You see, I could use Yahoo, but they don't offer me "dchop" as the login name. And I really want dchop.
I am also fairly anxious not to use any old stupid email service ever since all the big-wig-dot-coms started shutting down. Cos the last thing I want is to log on one day to find out that I needn't have.
Switching email accounts is a terrible pain because other people (the junta) just dont seem to understand they should stop emailing you at a particular address when you write them specifically for that very purpose (that too, from your new account, so all it takes is that they save the email address that that mail came from). Also, hotmail very conveniently does not offer a forwarding service (free, or otherwise) - I'm sure just to impediment their users from breaking away.
So its a cold cruel world in here in compu-land. But I'm led to believe that about a third of the world would rather worry about where their next email is headed, than where there next meal is heading from.
