Oh, they just intimidate me . . . they look so *all knowing* about what they need and want and make me feel so inept for not understanding any of this. Give me cats anyday!

Well, I'm now getting wondering stares and big gummy smiles from a pretty girl with spikey hair that wears a pink sleepsuit with a lavender kitty on it. Very un-intimidating!

Oh, I know. And if I had one of my own I know I would be soooooo adament about declaring them the most beautiful baby that ever existed!
It's more that other people's kids scare me. Yeah, they're cute and all that, and I even enjoy picking them up and giving them a cuddle. But they seem to know straight away that they intimidate me . . .
I went to a 'society coming out' party for my friend's baby in Jerez a few years ago and I said to my boyfriend at the time - 'ohmygawd, they're probably going to want me to hold little Lisa!' - and he said, 'no problem, just pretend she's a cat'. And actually that worked just fine.
