quick note, as i'm about to leave work (YAYYYYY)
After taking a quick shuftie at yer wee page, I decided to show solidarity as a similarly pink-streaked person and music lover (even though I can't play guitar to save myself 
to my eternal disgust - I do sing though, and play the zither 
)

I can't play the guitar either cos, rather frivolously, I value my nails too much. But i do sing. Speaking of which, i've just remembered that i told an absolutely stunning friend of mine called Greg (think of a cross between Elijah Wood and Neil Codling ex-suede) that i'd sing the Sebadoh version of Cold As Ice at Unplugged on Friday while he plays guitar. That was such a a bad idea cos i'm the most nervous person in the world. Why did i do that? Actually, i know exactly why i did it (i can't resist the gorgeous blue eyes), i just wish i hadn't.
And my ex-boyfriend has a belt with an engraved Idlewild - The Remote Part metal buckle, which is possibly the coolest band merchandise i've ever seen, along with the Electric Six lighters (so you can start your own fires, boom boom!) and the Weezer pants.

My excuse for my inability to play guitar is that I smashed my little finger up when I was a teenager, and am therefore unable to work the frets properly (pathetic excuse, as the finger in question is still usable and never prevents me doing anything else!
I get such nerves before I go on stage, although I don't get much of a chance to do it now. My way of coping is a pretentious actor's trick 
to put my 'core self' away and let all the worst exhibitionist tendancies come to the fore! I don't think I'd have the guts to get up and sing now, though, not without a few months' practise - not even if one of my friends did the infamous 'kitten eyes' trick on me (and I fall for it, always - such a softie).
My favourite ever piece of band merchandise was the fibre mat given away with the Wildhearts' 'Sick of Drugs' CD single. Advertised magnificently with the words "FREE GRASS!". You watered the mat and after a week or so, you had a lovely little green lawn all of your own, on which to have a very small picnic, or keep miniature 
. I still have mine safe inside a Gun promotional box. I do keep the most awful load of rubbish!

That is so cool! My flatmate Kev has an official Tenacios D cum-rag, signed by Jack Black. But that's not so much cool as extremely sick and wrong. And cool.
