Hi Infinity!

That stuff on the bottom of your shoe

I thought with your love of all the "little people" that you'd be the one to ask:
I have a lightbulb that's blown on the ceiling fixture. Even if I stand on a chair I'm too short to reach it.
I know I have a couple of options:

1) Buy a ladder
2) Live in the dark

Neither is practical at the moment.

Suggestions?

Not a problem sweety-pie. smiley - smiley Buy and chew lots and lots of bubblegum. Stick a couple of pieces on the wall and put your feet on them, then put another couple of pieces on the wall (you will know how high to put them) and carefully step forward on to them. Keep going in this fashion til you reach the ceiling then continue across the ceiling to the fixture. Good Luck smiley - hug

(Did you know that bubblegum was actually invented by the Little People for this type of situation?)

And here I've been just chewing the stuff...
I have alot in common with bubblegum now that I think about it. It usually ends up on the bottom of shoes as well.

Tyres too. So if the timing is right you could drive over walls with ease. Hope you have light in your life again.

It's Friday! Actually it's almost Saturday, but the effect is the same... an end to the work week. They, (my employers), didn't load me down with alot of production work, so I should be able to get out of the station on time.
Another thing to be thankful for is uplifting people like you. I hope I haven't given the impression that I'm always a depressing sot. It's more of an 80/20 split.
I'm better when I get at least 6 hours of uninterupted sleep.

What happened to your Good Friday? Did you have to work? What exactly is it you do, I did not really understand your "job description" on your page. Anyway, I am glad if I can help ease the pain of the working week for you.

I work the overnights at a company that runs three radio stations, (a top 40, an alternative rock, and a news/talk). I make sure the commercials play on all three, and that they're on time. I also input commercials into the computer systems for each station. And on the weekdays I work with the news department.
I also fill in, when needed, on-air.
I've been here about five years, and have tried my hand at just about every position, (Traffic, Programming, On-Air, running syndicated shows... Howard Stern and such).
What do you do besides making people smile?

I work for Nu Metro, one of two companies in South Africa that own movie theatres. I make up the movie guides that go into all the newspapers country wide.

So tell me... What did you write for "Dude, Where's My Car?"

Oh no, I don't write about the movies. The guides I do are the listings of what is showing at every movie house in the country. I haven't seen Dude, where's my car but I believe it is good. I don't go to movies as often as I would like but I do go to pre-screenings sometimes at work.

I thought that was the case. I was just having a bit of fun... I haven't seen "Dude, Where's My Car" either, But I heard it was a horrible movie.
Are pre-screenings a perk of the job? Or something that's only offered now and then?
I used to get free promotional CD's all the time... But it's gotten to the point where I have hundred's I haven't listened to, so I don't get them as much anymore.

That's the one with Jennifer Lopez right? I haven't seen it... But then I usually only see a movie once it's released on video tape. I think the last movie I saw in a theatre was Star Trek:Insurrection.
There have been a few that I've wanted to see, but with my work schedule I prefer to stay at home unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE to go somewhere.

I'm addicted to television. I get home about 6:30 in the morning. I'll watch whatever I taped from the night before, doze until noon, then get up for lunch, check the mail, (I'm also addicted to on-line auctions--I collect coins), then back to bed until it's time to go to work.
About the only difference with the weekends is that I get more sleep, and I watch movies, (last weekend it was "Mission To Mars" and a really disturbing sci-fi called "Progeny").
Now, if you tell me you spend your time helping orphans or somthing just as noble, I'll feel like such shoe scum.

Oh right...orphans - human and animal!! LOL

No, I lead a very lazy home life. Television at night after a day's work. Favourites: Ally McBeal, Outer Limits... Well basically comedy and weird is what I enjoy. The inner child in me goes to the movies when there is a Disney animated movie. Weekends I spend on the computer when I can or painting ceramic clocks. I am considering joining the spider club which should see me spending a bit more time outdoors. I am enjoying H2G2 but most of the time at home it is frustratingly slow.

Two of my favorites! I guess that's why we're Douglas Adams fans. I can remember 20 odd years ago when public radio was running Star Wars. I had my cassette deck loaded and ready to record. But first I had to sit through something called The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Little did I know IT would be the one I would most look forward to hearing each week.
Sounds like your weekends are a bit more exciting than mine.
What exactly is the spider club? (Please tell me it's a large club you use to smash the little beasties) LOL.

Spider Club

Well actually it is a club which promotes interest in spiders and their relatives. They go on outings, which I assume is a search for spiders, scorpions etc. This is where I prove to be wierd myself. Spiders love me so much if one sees me it is sure to bite me and I react to the point of swelling and extreme pain in the region of the bite. So please tell me I'm totally mad to consider joining the club!! Maybe you should export some psychiatric help complete with straight jackets!! Or just send me the bashing kind of club to squish spiders with!

You're totally mad.
Why would you subject yourself to the bites of ANY insect that causes that kind of reaction? I'm starting a Poke in the Eye Club if you're interested. smiley - smiley I used to be a member of the more extreme PITEWASS Club, (Poke in the EYE with a Sharp Stick), but you wouldn't believe the membership fees.
