I guess you're feeling the same as I am - friends leaving the community we've known for years and grown with - and now the news about DD & FC.

I can't bring myself to remove them from the h2g2 Romances page yet - maybe in a few days when I'm feeling not so heartsore.

In need of a ? I know I am.

It's been an interesting few days here what with one thing and another.

I'm sorry for DD. As I said elsewhere, I had no idea that he'd broken up with FC. I can appreciate some of what he feels, as it's not easy coming back to a site where you met a partner and where they still might be hanging around. I'm pretty sure however that we'll be able to drag him back into the fold with a little gentle prodding.

The same goes for EV actually. What with a girlfriend who is still an active member of the site, I can't imagine him staying away for ever. I'm willing to place folding that he'll be there at the next major meet.

As for Shazz. Well that is a real shame, even if her leaving has been flagged up for months now. It does come as a blow when the final break happens.

You know that strange thing about this place is that way that it keeps on trucking no matter what. Sometimes I go diving way way down into the backlog. Back to 2000 and pre-Rupert and that sort of time. I see passionate conversations between names I don't even recognise ever. Yet still the site keeps on going. I guess it's fundamentally very very strong and won't break and won't break just because of one person.
