I used to have one that vibrated itself across the kitchen, pulling the outlet hose out of the sink and flooding the place, unless i rushed in and sat on it as soon as the spin cycle started.
never did understand why my ex-husband kept falling about with laughter and calling me kinky.
Why's this entitled "Stupid stupid stupid"?

Oh. That's why.
just read post 43. Went for an MRI scan a few weeks ago and was worried about Lurch having to sit and twiddle his thumbs in the waiting room. Offered him my book. He declined because he'd seen a bus timetable (for an area he's unlikely to visit again - and definitely not without the car) that was just crying out for him to read and memorise it.
Boy - talking of stupid...
Medical staff aren't allowed to lift you, or pull you up any more. X-ray tables and MRI scanners are too narrow for you to turn onto your side and then on to hands and knees (and too high off the floor for the "throwing yourself off the edge" option. One hospital allowed Lurch to come in and pull me up. The one in which I had the op brought a gurney alongside for me to roll onto. THIS scanner was in one of those trailers (like the ones mobile vets or travelling exhibitions use) so they didn't have room to bring a chair or anything alongside (and nowt to bring anyway.) They wouldn't let me lean on any of the plasticky things nearby (on the basis that they weren't stable enough so I might fall) and they wouldn't let Lurch come in to help because he wasn't a patient so the insurance wouldn't cover him entering the room.
Red tape gone mad huh? I think they probably could have scanned another two whole people in the time it took me to find a way back onto terra firma.
