Tefkat Where are you???

Well Incog, a couple of weeks ago I could have been gardening wiv nuffink on (but for the presence of neighbours . It were almost 80 on the terrace and 110 in the polytunnel . Unfortunately it snowed again at the beginning of this week and since then we've had frosts every night (nice days though). 'tis a bit inconvenient 'cos i have over a thousand young plants wanting to be planted out this month so they don't dehydrate when we abandon them during the half term break.
I'm sorry I haven't been around. (Amazed so many people actually noticed. [Master B? I certainly wouldn't have had you pegged as one of the usual suspects.] *waves to Master B, abbi, Shhhhh and Tabs.* Am I supposed to go down the line shaking hands or do I stand still while you all file past? The penguin with the tray of is standing over there in the corner if it makes any difference...)
I WAS busy gardening and also having trouble wresting the internet connection from the boys' grubby paws (and having to keep the phone line free during ossif hours) but it's mostly been withdrawal. (No, not THAT sort of wiffdrawal thilly!)
You knew I'd asked the to refer the boys to an aspergers specialist last June didn't you? And that one of her colleagues had insisted on referring them to a generalist instead because in his eyes "They don't LOOK autistic" and, besides, "You mustn't make prejudgements about what is wrong with them. The generalists will refer them to a specialist if they need to." AAAAAAAAAAARGH!
Stupid man referred us to one of those "family units" where they insisted on us going back every week or two and wanted to know all sorts of irrelevant details. They even made us talk about OUR childhoods .
Lurch doesn't remember much of his but the bits he did manage to dredge up have left him pretty fractured and I've been spending a lot of time trying to help him not to drift away.
I had a pretty shitty childhood (Thorry - couldn't resist the rhyme) and I have an eidetic memory - I remember things by reliving them - so you can maybe imagine the state I've been in?
Unfortunately stress seems to make my aphasia worse. Sufficient stress can make me lose the power of speech altogether (well, ashley, pile it on thick enuf and I end up catatonic, wiv no catagin to make it taste better , but that's irrelevant - or even your elephant). Normally Lurch is extremely skilled at supplying the word that's on the tip of my tongue (we often find ourselves saying the same sentences at the same time ) but in company, specially attacky sort of company like psychologists, he's too busy trying not to disappear - no help there.
Writing's a lot easier (specially this sort, during which I can rush off to consult thesauri instead of having to say things like "It's a word beginning with "C" that means a garment with sleeves that you wear to keep you warm or dry outside" - or, at worst, bang my head against the wall without anyone noticing ) but what with taking up to a week to recover, physically AND emotionally, from each trip and then having to spend as much time again psyching myself up for the next one (not to mention having to talk to the neighbours every time I try to sneak outside for gardening) I haven't been able to make myself communicate spontaneously with anyone.
Also, apart from being flat on my back a fair amount of the time, I'm having a bit of trouble with my typing fingers. When I'm nervous, or there are other people around (which comes to the same thing really), I bite and pick the skin around my fingernails. The last few months have been so bad that I've bitten/pulled the skin all the way round the first four fingers and both thumbs almost down to the second knuckle joints so the holes are pretty deep in places and the ones along the joints make it a tad difficult to bend them.
it's just all too, too much dwahlinks .
Again, humble jalopies for having neglected/concerned/worried you lot. Can I bribe you to forgive me?
Any news of UG and Ev?

Talking of n2g2 Tabs there's someone new on there that scares me. He seems to have too much in common with EVERYONE for comfort. Every time anyone mentions anything he tells us he's an expert. He seems to have more (widely disparate) jobs than I would expect someone with his level of facility with written English to be capable of. (Oh dear, is that "intellectual snobbery" or summat? It wasn't meant that way. Just that, in my experience, bright people tend to pick up a great deal despite any lack of formal education they may have suffered. Aargh, she says, digging the hole deeper!). ( she says, ending a sentence with a preposition.)
He just reminds me strongly of Quincy, Silent Lucidity et al. Am I being paranoid?

Much better to end it with a proposition .
Eccentrica
Forgot to mention the part that really terrified me was that when he first arrived he sent me an unsolicited email pointing out how much we had in common and saying he would like to discuss it with me in depth
Just paranoia huh? No-one else finds him creepy do they?

Great to see you Tef - even if you are still "going thourght the mire"
Bribes are always accepted here as you know
Not sure why you were flat on your back though - but perhaps that shouldn't be discussed openly.
Deep breaths often help though - and a

Thanks Shhhhh. Is that a catagin?
Thing is, people think if you're taken out in a car and a wheelchair you should be fine, but both methods of transport jostle and jounce you unmercifully - and then there are places wheelchairs won't go, like up the three flights of stairs at the loony bin.
Of course you don't have to accept my excuses. You can think what you like. I'M not denying anything.
How's tricks then?

fink it's more a dogagin but whatever takes your fancy
I is ok more or less - still strugglin along anyway
Don't they have auto lifts in the bins? Thought you could be lifted everywhere once the straight jacket was on??
You learn summat everyday eh!

Is that the sort that makes you go "woof!" when you drink it?
No lifts in this place. It's one o' they old victoirian buildings wiv the pretty mopsaic tiled floors. It's a "family centre". presumably they expect you to have unruly teenagers that you'll drag up the stairs by the scruffs of their necks.
Nowt wrong wi' OUR teenager. We found him sitting in the dumpy-bag of sharp sand last night, making sandcastles, and he's been begging to put together the loofah 'cos he loves jigsaw puzzles. Model teenager that...

They don't wear straight jackets anyway, unless you count their blazers. They prefer hoodies or kagoules.
