Hello Barnacle!! 
You work for the BBC? (interest, interest) What do you do?
I'm an ACE, which basically means I've volunteered for the 'official' job of meeting and greeting newcomers to the guide - a 'welcome mat' as someone said. I think they were being sarcastic when they did say it, but it's a fair description I guess. Except that not all of us are flat and hairy...

Yep, I work for the BBC. Officially I'm a project manager, working mostly on overseas studios in all those places you only hear of when there's a reporter looking harassed in a flak jacket with shrapnel whislting past his ears. I supply the facilities they need, and then occasionally someone drops by and blows them up. Which is nice.
This week I are mostly working in Paris trying to get a refurbished studio online. I just heard that a 4 inch water pipe burst all over it on friday 
and half the equipment got lost in the post over christmas...but apart from that, things look good!
I'll probably get over to the beach but only if they let me drink coconuts. I promise not to wipe my feet.

When I've finished a job, I enjoy it. When I'm deep in a problem, I enjoy it. When they stop shooting at me, I enjoy it. The bits in between, sometimes not so good!
