hi fred, saw your post under 'pirates' so checked out your page.
i went to maidenhead once, in 1973 for a CAN concert, but it was cancelled...didn't find out till i got there though, having hitched
all the way from sheffield.
then shared a house near essex uni with a now famous actor from
maidenhead...
i've not been back since.
hope all worked out with the car...

Yep, that's it - the one and only Maidenhead. One of these days I'll get to finish writing my guide entry on the place. Maybe.
Hmmm - famous people from Maidenhead... apart from one of the spice girls, most famous people from round here actually live in Bray or Cookham... like Rolf Harris, Ulrika Jonssen, formerly Terry Wogan, Timmy Mallet, Carol Vorderman.
Got the car back now.... so far so good - no volvos anyway
