Hi CB,
Thanks for your cheery hello on behalf of h2g2. I know it's your 'virtual job' as an ACE to greet weary travellers such as myself, but if you've read my naff intro blurb, you'll see why any thin ray of sunshine is appreciated.
I'm now off to stand in line for one of your Yule kisses (if I'm allowed)...

How's that, I hope you feel better - it's always a sunny day at h2g2.

Thanks Bassman! Wow, it's bright over here!
It certainly seems like a sunny place all year round. I know the sunshine won't last for me, but I shall enjoy this 'up' cycle while I can.
Cheers! or for you, sir?

Nice of you to offer, but I've had a bit of an accident with a at the 100th Keeper party, I'll have to decline - thanks all the same.
welcome Line Walker!
Line Walker - Keeper Of Negativity Posted Dec 22, 2000
Mmm, yes, Bassman. After briefly perusing the party details and discovering your penchant for throwing around and s, I think you need to be plonked in a corner and given a nice, black . When you're not so woozy, I'll buy you that drink or six.
Very smooooooth with the laydeez, though...

Here's your CB. Anything else to go with it? Pork scratchings? Crisps? Peanuts?
Another too! I really must come here more often...

Well old chap, in that case, I'll take as many cyber 's as you like, being as I'm a lot, lot closer to being a teatotaller than an alcy IRL, due to an inhereted kidney condition. Plus I always drive to gigs, so 1 pint to loosen up is ok but the rest of the time I drink diet coke.
welcome Line Walker!
Crystal Butterfly Posted Dec 26, 2000
Good man, diet coke is what I drink when I'm driving!
If only everyone did, there'd be a lot less death on the roads...
Virtualis great fun!
Andthrowing parties!

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Dec 27, 2000
The only problem with Diet Coke is that it's full of caffein, which I normally try to avoid (Blood pressure kidneys - vicious circle). It keeps me buzzing for the gig, but I can never get to sleep when I get home after.

Line Walker - Keeper Of Negativity Posted Dec 27, 2000
Bassman, I have five s set up for you, and a packet of cheesy bunion crisps residing in the ashtray. Help yourself.
Bad news regarding the kidney thing. I'm okay on the drinky front, but should ideally watch what I eat due to internal bad stuff that'll be with me until it's operation time or until I kick the bucket! Never mind, it could be worse. Hope YOU stay on the right side of okay, though. This calls for another (cyber) pint...
~Wanders back from the bar a few minutes later, drinks in hand~
Uh-oh on the diet coke front! Never mind the caffeine, it's the aspartame you really need to worry about, and I am TOTALLY serious. Along with Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Aspartame is very bad news for your body, but due to greedy / stupid / irresponsible food agencies and companies, you'll find both of these in most processed foods and drinks on the supermarket shelves. Have a look, you'd be surprised. And then concerned. Oh, you'll probably be more used to seeing Aspartame disguised under the brand name of Nutrasweet. They are one and the same. If it says 'artificial sweetener', check the label...
I haven't searched this site for any references to this topic yet, but I will soon, and if I can't find anything I may just be tempted to write a guide about it. Worthwhile or not?
Anyway, you can wake up now, I've finished rambling! TTFN

Thanks for the . So why is Aspartame SOOOO bad for you then?
At the end of the day, the only thing you put in your mouth that does no harm at all is water and you wouldn't get very far with just water.

Line Walker - Keeper Of Negativity Posted Dec 28, 2000
Yep, I agree, just a water diet wouldn't be wholly good for you at all, but the fact that chemicals are thrown into most food substances these days isn't good either. The question is, do we quietly accept the forced chemical ingestion?

for some bedtime reading. I did have some excellent links regarding this somewhere, but they appear to be missing from my machine... Still, this should widen your eyes. If I find my links, I'll mail 'em to ya.
I could rattle out WHY it's so bad for you, but some of these sites do it so much better and with more information than I could provide. I'll just say 'cumulative toxic poison' at you. And I haven't even mentioned the fact that it contains methanol...
You're looking a little queasy. Barman, a bottle of Southern Comfort and two straws, please.

Would you like any help on writing that Guide Entry, Line Walker?
welcome Line Walker!
Line Walker - Keeper Of Negativity Posted Dec 30, 2000
CB, are you offering assistance with regard to content or with the layout / setting up of the whole thing? If it's the latter it would be handy - new to this sort of thing and all that - if it's the former, I'd be interested in hearing (so to speak) what you think about this aspartame toxin.
Thanks for the offer.
welcome Line Walker!
Crystal Butterfly Posted Jan 5, 2001
I can help you with the layout of the entry, show you Guide ML, unfortunately I don't know anything about aspartame itself.
You're welcome!
