They all got big headed during the Egyptian era.. once you're worshiped it's hard to come back to normal..

Really? I'll have to take your word for it, not expecting any worshipping or idolizing any time in MY near future.

It's not every pet/family-member that also has a pet of their own. Of course, Shadow and Molly do have us, so I suppose that is pets AND staff at the same time. ,doh>

Ah, but they do deign to shower us with appreciation and affections, when it suits them. Unfortunately, with cats, that's usually around 2 am.

*giggles* Goofus only did that when there was a big storm that would scare her.. then she'd insist on keeping me awake to keep her calm.

Oh, if it's a storm, then it's a 2 am stampede over us, ... and over us, ... and ...
Other-wise, it's just a 2 am washing of a chin by a dozen pounds of lad. Stretched out on my chest. Or maybe he just finds an errant finger or two to wash and suckle.

Long ago I had a whole houseful of critters. Of course there was and her plus I also had my coyote and another . I could always tell how cold it was by how many furries were in bed with me. Of course HR Dogness was always there, as was my cat. Colder nights brought in s and the very coldest brought in the coyote.

My missus had known poodles for much of her life. And had been nipped by a doberman once. She never trusted cats, for no reason that she can recall, and never knew any other critters. Having moved a lot, lived in smaller places without real dog-space, we were pet-less for quite a time. She only conceded to cats when she met a litter of five, ALL in the hands of an 8-year-old. She melted. Hence Ramses and Kimmy becoming part of our family. As each passed in their own time and ways, another joined us. For fullness of the home, as one is NEVER a replacement for another. And so we now have Shadow and Molly, and heaven help anyone that dares treat them wrongly.

Ordinarily I can't stand a home without critters but since losing I have yet to be able to bring myself to getting another animal. I don't think of it as replacing her or anything, I just can't bring myself to get another critter.

Perhaps in time, some fur-bearing beastie will catch you with the most pathetically sad eyes ... I know all too well that some things should NOT be hurried along.

oh I'm a sucker for dewey eyed critters.. even the geese that have taken over the campus grounds.. while most employers here contract with a company called (and I'm not kidding here) Goose Busters, we have signs everywhere to not pester the nesting geese. Needless to say they get pretty brazen when nobody will bother them. There are two in particular who like to snooze on the walkway near my office. Often in front of the badge reader, leading to some amazing contortions to get the door to open.

And exactly who is it that insists that homo sapiens are at the apex of the animal kingdom? Cats, dogs, now geese ... We haven't a chance, have we?
I still find it a bit to hear of a work-place being called a "campus". To me, that is the sprawling grounds of some higher-learning facility.

Which fits the MSFT campuses ( or is that campi?) to a tee.. doesn't matter what the age is, most wander around in very casual dress, hauling backpacks instead of briefcases. No requirement to sit at your desk as the whole campus is wireless (downside being you could potentially work from the potty if needed).. Xboxes in all the break rooms... quite nice..

In some ways, it sounds almost like "Romper Room" as well.
I've always been extraordinarily lucky, in that every workshop I have been in was relaxed to a degree. That essentially the task was obvious, and the method left to the techs. Of course, some are always in need of hand-holding and constant direction. I've always been pretty good with the seat-of-the-pants method.

If Romper Room were populated with s so it would be.. but then of course there are the guard geese too..

In these days of not being able to trust anyone, Guard-Guess-R-Us are a necessity about the nursery, eh?

The killer attack geese are pretty funny... they park in the most inconvenient places and tuck their beaks under a wing for a snooze..
