I'm glad you liked the Harry Hay videos. I always like to have some 'further information'-type links in an entry, and I thought Hay was really interesting to learn about. 
Those folks from the 'pioneer days' are always good to get to know.

Yes indeed - the first video in particular emphasised that looking back on history, knowing what we know now, can bring a different perspective to events in comparison to how it was for the people at the time who didn't have that hindsight, or even the (non-derogatory) words to describe themselves... Well worth learning about
