I prefer when it´s the wind that´s blowing....
I´ve never understood the purpose of blowing things up...mostly innocent people will be hurt or killed...that can´t be beneficial for the purpose of the perpetrators...they most lose sympathy in stead of gain it...

Agree.
Unfortunately, even though it's counterproductive, it's hard to stop.
Kind of like behaviour.

...and it seems hard to do something about it... fanatics are not easily reached... especially not with logic arguments
...and now for something completely different...
How´s job searching? Any success yet?

No, it's rough. I'm actually trying to sell some verses to a greeting card company. That rough.
Actually, though, I haven't been able to do too much the last two weeks. First, I had the flu, then I had a tooth extracted. And everybody's got heatstroke.
But I should be back at it full blast come Monday.

I´ll keep my fingers crossed
I´m longing for vacation... two more weeks to go... I´d hoped to finish an article by now, but I´m just half way through it...always a lot of other stuff that need to be taken care of...
...and, honestly, the fact that I and my supervisor not axactly are on speaking terms at them moment don´t make things easier. He´s a lazy spoiled upper class brat not doing his job... which is well known...but the head of department avoids conflicts at any costs...

Transgenic mice - so if you don´t like people doing animal research... I´d rather discuss my scientific work off forums...I can give you an emailadress which I give to hootoo friends, and from there direct you to another.
...but at this moment I´m involved in something very odd...
I´m parallelly (correct word?) at another hitchhiker forum trying to support a youngster...
He lives in one country, MSNing to a friend in another country who obviously is seriously threatening to commit suicide... The thing is to make sure someone contacts the family and the suicidal person is taken care of before anything happens...
The situation itself is nothing unfamiliar to me. For many years I worked as a non-registred nurse in two different psychiatric hospitals - and spent a few years at the "Hot Line" where those sitations are quite common. But it´s always worse when it´s someone you know and you´re not trained to deal with this...

Oh, my. It sounds like your expertise is needed elsewhere. I'll sign off, and say a prayer, because I'm no use at all. Best of luck to you all!
And talk about silly things another time.

..the situation eventually solved...but it was early morning before I went to bed. Last message I had yesterday afternoon was optimistic. Just hope that the person concerned has got proper professional attention.
...odd things happens in the cyber world...
Sweet dreams!

Oh, queen, I'm so sorry about your neighbour. What a shame. Too many bad things happening.
The test went okay, I guess. I was nervous about taking it. I did all of it, and then I lost the data!
So I did it over, saved it *right* this time, and sent it in with a note about what I'd done. It seemed to be all right with the man from the company.
They'll be going over them this weekend, so I'll know early next week.
It never rains but it pours. I've just sent in another application for a work-from-home online job, which is similar. And somebody I emailed several months ago about an internship just emailed me back, saying they'd like me to work for them at the museum. Of course, that's unpaid.
I sent her back an email and said I'd have to see how the job panned out, and she was very understanding. I wanted to do an internship to get museum experience, because I'd love to go that route.
Long-winded answer, sorry. It's just that usually I have so little news.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
