my friends from the police

I just had my first experience in bribing policemen.
We were sitting at a lake near the campus at 11:30 pm when they came (btw. we didn't even have alcohol with us). In the end we had to pay Rs 400 otherwise they would have taken us to jail and made up a case, preferably something like the two others trying to rape me or offence against the anti-terrorist act, LTT activity or whatever. In reality it was all just about how much we would pay, of course. Even if they wouldn't be successful in front of a court, the trouble that all would cause would be so big, that we just had to pay and they knew that.

Holidays!!!

Yeah, I am going for a holiday to Kerala! 
We take the whole week off and go for beaches, temples, backwaters and hillstations. I am really looking forward...though everybody warns us that it will be very very hot. Anyway!

Indian Fashion

Today I am wearing my first salwar kameez (indian dress for women containing of pyjama-style trousers, long tunika-top and a huge scarf). Of course my Indian family took care that I also wear a fitting nail polish and bindi (these ornaments Indian women wear on their forehead). It is really comfortable and everybody is really excited about me becoming Indian and seems to like it very much. 
I think I never got so many compliments in all my live.

I just learned my first sentence in Hindi: Tumhe lakda hae mae tourist hu? (German writing that is) which means as much as: Do you think I am a tourist? and is supposed to be very helpful when dealing with rikshaw drivers and the like that try to rip you off.
