Hey Friar,
Just thought I'd drop by and say hello. How've things been? Did you find out yet where you'll be doing your residency?
I apologise for being somewhat incommunicado and for slacking off work for the Chicago article. The last couple of months have been pretty rough, but I won't whine and moan at you about it. I've got a couple more entries up my sleeve, and as soon as I feel I can devote the proper attention to them, I'll be back on it.
Meanwhile, I hope all is well with you, the missus, and little Alyson. I know that next month is going to be insane for you, but I hope to see you guys at the meet-up, even if only for a while. I think I might blow off my friend's bachelorette party and hang out with the hootooers... it's going to be the lamest hen party ever anyway, I'd rather hang with all the other nutters. 
Well, I suppose I've bothered you enough for the time being. See you around soon, I hope!

Great to hear from you!
We just got back from a long weekend in Tampa with my parents (Alyson's first plane trip). Now I fully realize that the days of just getting on an airplane with a backpack are LONG GONE!
I was carrying the full suitcase (as Alyson has more clothes than me AND the missus), plus the carry-on (for the nursing pillow and Alyson's blanket) plus the diaper bag. I also had the car seat (which is not in any way easy to carry). My wife had the baby and a not terribly operational stroller.
Whew! Good thing there were only a billion people at O'Hare for the holiday weekend!
Anyway, I STILL don't know my May schedule. I'll find out next Monday. I know I'll get to do at least one of the days, but if I'm on call on Saturday, I'm pretty stuck. . .
As far as the Chicago article goes: absolutely no worries! Do what you want to, when you want to. . .I've only done the tiniest bit in months and months. It'll sort itsle fout. I figure when we've got at least 10 articles in areas that make sense, then we can send it off to Uni or as a bunch to the front page.
OK, I'm goign to zone out for an hour before bed, but I'll be lurking here all week. . .
