Medical Update

Hello,
Well we think we finally got my blood pressure under control, but have to use two bp meds together to do it. Heart scans are showing only subtle abnormalities and at this time does not warrent further action. I hope to be discharged for home tonight, but haven't seen the Cardiologist yet to get his "ok".
This will be a birthday I will remember for a long time. You know, I was a paramedic for about 10 years and faced my mortality from external threats, from being shot at, to picking up people my age that I knew who had died tragically. But, this is the first time I've had my mortality shoved in my face due to a internal threat. Bothers me more than I thought it would. I'm only 37 and I think I'm just hitting my stride. I don't want to die nor intend to die. Well I think that is enough for now.

Be safe and be well

Trust in machines

Well so far the car is working. At first on the way to work, the battery light kept blinking on and off at random like a Jehovah's witness that just won't go away. Then about half way to work, it quit blinking. It hasn't blinked since then and instead of me being comforted by that, I am now on edge waiting for something else to happen. I keep thinking the battery light went away to get his big brother and really give me trouble. It's funny how you trust and take your car for granted till something out of the blue happens. Then your trust is shot for quite a long time. You jump at every new noise, real or imagined, that you hear, and spend your time while driving thinking of who you could call for a ride when/if the car breaks down again. Would be nice to have some peace of mind. Maybe if I just ride my bike all the time then I'll have it.

The damn alternator!

Sigh, spent the day without sleep again due to the damn alternator on the car. The belt seemed to slip again, this time causing the car to run on the battery on and off. Tightened it up again, took it for a test drive, and the damn slipped again! The car was screeching like a man having his fingers broken and twisted. Thought I was a one man parade going down the street with everyone staring at me, and poor dogs lying down and howling in pain. Wish I had had some candy to throw out to the folks. Anyway, got back, tightened the thing up again, burning myself since the engine was now hot. Took it for a test drive and everything seems to work ok now. But I don't trust that alternator. I know for sure that when I'm on the road tonight to goto work, it will slip again. I just know it.

Be safe and be well.
