Liars, Thieves and Pickpockets...
Posted Mar 4, 2019
Thieves take your tangible possessions usually of a substantial value. Pickpockets are more of an opportunist, who take whatever is available for a quick grab. Liars steal your time, energy, emotions, focus and so on, away from you and those you could have better spent that on.
Especially if it is someone you trusted far more than they deserved.

Thirty Six years ago, David looked me in the eye and said 'Get new friends, because if this is what you have as friends now, throw em out.'. He was referencing a note that a 'friend' wrote, as a practical joke.
Since then, I have had thieves as co workers, met two serial killers, and yet the liars have done the most damage.
A bit tired of 'getting new friends'.

Yahoo and Hotmail instant messengers are gone. Outlook and skype are rather bloated for what I want to use.
So, I downloaded the newest incarnation of Trillian. I hope it is as useful as the previous versions.
Only problem so far is hotmail ate my contact list. Not the first time for 'Get new friends'.

On the radio this morning
Posted May 11, 2005
The discussion topic was "dangerous things you did as a teenager".
One caller said that she wrecked her dad's car. To which the announcer asked "What did you hit?". The answer was "Anything in my path.".
Two pine trees one telephone pole and 90 feet of barbed wire were in her path. No casualties, which was a shock to the police officer who noticed the barbed wire rolled up in the back seat.
After all of that, the car engine had to be turned off. The car was a 1969 toronado that was less than a year old at the time. Cars are not made like that any more.
