It seems I misread you on a thread the other day and thought that you might be related to a new hootoo character called 'dash'.
Please accept humble apologies and this lovely toilet brush in case my error upset you.
While I'm here I'll take the opportunity to invite you to have a look at my h2g2 friends photo gallery and join us there if you'd like to.

Maybe see you there?

Hello, Azahar.
I did see the other post and it did upset me. I assure you I have no pleasant connection with the aforementioned 'dash'.
Thank you very much for being kind enough to drop by and apologize, and with a toilet brush, even . Apologies accepted and no hard feelings on the matter. You are welcome to drop by any time and chat if you would like.
Thank you for the invitation to the photo album.

I also extend the invitation to you to drop into my journal stuff or even keep chatting here if you'd like to.
Always nice to meet a new friend.

Thank you.
I came to this site to have fun and meet friends.
I remember DNA being around when I first got here.
Would you like some and while you are here?

azahar Posted Feb 10, 2005
Got any ?
My two year h2g2 anniversary will be coming up any day now.
I just happened over here after reading Salmon of Doubt. Since then I've had lots of fun meeting so many wonderful people. And the odd not-so-wonderful one, but that's life.
I also ended up meeting my heart's desire here . We are now living together and often feel grateful to DNA for starting off something that ended up with the two of us meeting. Would never have happened otherwise.
Often h2g2 feels like my second home.

Help yourself:
Two years? Time flies here, doesn't it?
I lurked through here in late 1999. Then joined in 2000... and got promptly locked out by Rupert. Opened another account while waiting for this one to reappear after the moderating process.
That's really nice that you met a soul mate here. I have made some good friends here too.
See, I always thought this site was about bringing people together for a positive purpose... the guide, itself and to make friends beyond all the usual culture and geographical boundaries. At its best, it is an amazing tribute to DNA.

Yes, along with the many good friends I've met here, with whom I am in touch with almost daily, I have also met a couple of others in person, who have come to Seville. And a few others are also 'threatening' to visit me.
It is more a 'community' than simply just another internet forum. Though I find I cannot express this properly anytime I try to explain to someone what h2g2 is all about. I think it needs to be experienced.
Can't help but notice your tag. I have to admit I have been accused of things I don't actually do here . . . a bit hard at times to get stuff like humour and especially irony across with just the written word. But honest - I'm mostly harmless!

There are some researchers I would dearly love to meet, no luck yet.
I can't explain the community bit either. So, I drag them here. Only two have signed up, the others lurk through my page once in a while. I can tell they have been lurking when I get emails about a topic of conversation on here that I never told them about otherwise.
, you don't scare me. I can get sarcasm in print most of the time... especially if it is from someone I know didn't mean any harm.

Oh, thank you very much! *sips *
Just making some lunch now before I head off for my afternoon classes (I teach English here in Seville).
Yes, some people don't get that concept. Were you referring to anyone in particular?

Seville? I didn't know.
I have run into more than a few unpleasant things from this weekend in Ask.

There isn't much to say that hasn't been said already about it, onsite.
I don't see why it is such a big deal that I have a pre rupert account, a post rupert account, and a couple of accounts the BBC computer threw at me while I was trying to get back into this account.
Quite literally: Click >>here<< to convert your h2g2.com account into a BBC account. *click* Congratulations you are now a member of the BBCi... and your new account is: U#...... , twice before I begged the editors to let me back into this account.
That was not a unique situation. It was utterly unavoidable at the time. Lots of researchers have multiple accounts for the very same reason, either rupert or the SSO.
Some have alternate accounts for other reasons. Nothing wrong with that if you follow the house rules and play nicely with others.
None of my accounts have ever been moderated.
Nor, have I used them to deceive anyone.
And yet, there is only one researcher who seems to take issue with that, even though they have only posted with one of my accounts.

azahar Posted Mar 9, 2005
What's pre rupert and post rupert?
I haven't seen any of the threads where someone has made an issue about your accounts.
I've never had another account. I once started a temporary one (using my same nickname) to use while my original account was blocked - I had forgotton my password and after three incorrect tries the account was blocked; it took a couple of days to get sorted out again. But the new account said 'temporary account' on the PS and posted a link to my original U number. And, as I say, I continued using 'azahar' so people weren't confused.
Perhaps the best thing to do is simply ignore this person?

"Rupert" is the name for the downtime when h2g2.com was completely closed and being prepared for the BBC to relaunch it as h2g2.co.uk.
Part of the preparation was to pass everything through moderation from back to front (newest posts to oldest posts). Because of that, older User Pages were covered and not useable for a longer time than those who had just joined previously. If you wanted to post any time soon, the thing to do was open a new account. Everyone had to convert old accounts from h2g2.com to bbci accounts.
This was unannounced and very bewildering to a lot of people. Tags like {can anyone remember my name?} and Researcher name{Mark II} or Researcher name {again} were all over the place.
A very similar thing is happening right now with the Buffy site and quite possibly the get writing site in the very near future. They are having to open h2g2 accounts because those sites are closing.
One of my threads was barged into and a comment was made about my other aliases and the allusion made that there was such a vagueness between aliases, alternate I.Ds and sock puppets.
One person has emailed a very similar comment to me. Funny how others whom I have actually posted with as more than one I.D., don't mind.
I won't waste my time arguing with them about their allusions.
and for wading through that.

buenas noches,
How are you doing? I'm in the middle of a lovely week off. Am doing lots of reorganising and spring cleaning stuff, which feels quite wonderful (well, not the doing bit, the bit after once something is done).
It is now officially 'sandal weather' here and the orange blossoms are just starting to come out.
So I'm feeling quite fine. And you?

Hello, again.
Sounds like you are enjoying the week off. I'm always happy to hear good news from others.
I really should look into doing some spring cleaning around here.
Our weather has warmed up and moved right into full spring. It was hot, humid and storming, yesterday morning. By lunch time it was overcast and by 4 p.m. it was sunny and clear. Flowers are blooming everywhere and birds start chirping at 5 a.m.
Personally, I'm doing quite well, thanks for asking.
I have been working on some creative writing projects that had sort of stalled for a while there. One of them is moving along rather well after being at a complete stand still for months. It has gone from only two paragraphs of dialog to a couple of pages with a history of the characters, a story line and plot in just about three weeks. It may not be great writing, but as a project it is one of the longest pieces I have attempted to write. I just hope writing gets easier with practice.

Well of course I am also staying in touch so I can pester you about sending in a photo.
Btw, have you seen this yet? I think it's a very good idea.
F1992527?thread=616629
What sort of stuff do you write? I once wrote a whole novel about eight years ago. To be honest, it really wasn't very good, but I enjoyed writing it.
Have you ever read Stephen King's book On Writing? I'm not a fan of Mr King's novels but I thought this book was quite interesting and it offered a lot of good advice on writing.
<>
I think the more you write the easier it becomes - which sounds very obvious but I think a lot of people get discouraged when they aren't pleased with their stuff and end up stopping. Apparently you *must* persevere and write something every day, even if you don't feel like it.
I now have another creative project going on - designing a line of clothing that I hope to sell this autumn (for next spring). This is one of the reasons for all the re-organising and cleaning - so that my workspace is more comfortable.
Glad to hear you are feeling fine and that things are going well for you.

It is really tempting to send you a photo of the "Maverick" for whom this account was named. I don't have a very recent photo of me.
Took a look at that link. I'd rather not participate in that.
My writing folder, so far, is full of essays, anecdotes and some research with the odd bit of poetry thrown in just because something bubbled up while I was distracted from something else.
The current project is a bit of fiction that started as a paragraph or two of dialog in November. I had an idea of how I wanted it to end... with nothing more in the way of details until quite recently. In just the last three weeks it has moved along quite a bit and it still isn't anywhere near finished.
I didn't know Stephen King had written a book about writing. I have read a couple of books about writing and took a good look through the Get Writing site months ago.
What type of clothing do you design?
