Help on homebrew wanted

Hi there,

while subbing the homebrew article on http://www.h2g2.com/A419113 (I'm preparing this article for inclusion in the edited guide), I've stumbled over your comments in the article's conversation forum. It seems to me that you have sort of deeper knowlegde about homebrewing and know what you are talking about.

Just as you, I think that this article needs some help. What is missing in my opinion is personal experience and a validation of the requirements and methods explained in the article.

Would you like to make some contributions to enhance the article? If you want to, just answer to this posting and give your opinion on how particular sentences should read to explain things better and possibly your own personal perspective on homebrewing. I would really appreciate contributions of you - that would make the article a great collaborative guide entry and you would of course be credited in the article.

Hope to hear from you soon,

SchrEck Inc.

Ok, I think that I was a little unclear in my posting. I have never started a homebrew process from start to finish. Not once. I have read alot. I mean alot. i have a kit that has not left my closet for over 3 christmases. I have kibbits with other homebrewers and talked with an enebriated irashman about it. I was also sloshed. My mean experience with homebrewing is nil. not a sausage. I have a great deal of want to do it. but I cannot afford the time or the room. my children would make a mess of it. I can hardly eat two forkfuls of food without having to satisfy some vauge whim of thiers at suppertime. So really all I can say is this: brew some beer. Then you'll be one up on me, and you can shut up whoever poo-poo's your Entry. Best of luck to you. You can be darn sure I will read your next entry. Sorry if I come off a bit crazed. I'm sleepy.smiley - yawn

Seems that my posting is a bit unclear - I'm not the author of the homebrew article but the SubEd that is trying to get the best of it, and therefore asking for advice on this field that I'm no expert of, either. Thank you for your response, nevertheless. And get some sleep. smiley - smiley

Sorry I was grumpy. In rereading your post, I now realize my mistake. At most pubs or brewpubs (it depends on what side of the Atlantic you are on) there are brewmasters on site. In an english Pub you would be very hard pressed to get any info out of them. Just the way it is. Or so I have read. Here in the states (and I am assusming you are either british or american, so I am covering both), the brewmasters are a bit less stringent, I have talked to many. None would give me any of thier secrets, but would enthuse at length about all the basic procedures. I am sure a judicious bit of web surfing can help out the editorial process alot. I would check out brewmasters.com at least. The have a fairly straightforward site, and when last I checked, some good links to several homebrewers homepages. Good Luck. I got some sleep. Feel better now, but I am sorry. After rereading my own response, fuzzy eyes seemed not an excuse. Please keep me abreast of all you findings. I'll try to do some on my own.
