Oh dear; I see why you thought I was ignoring you. I missed BOTH of those messages, although I'm not sure how I managed it smiley - erm Probably I didn't quite get through all my messages (that's happened a couple of times lately) and missed ones that were close to the bottom. smiley - sadface

And I am not the slightest bit worried that you're South African. smiley - smiley Have you met the Unmentionable Marauding Pillowcase? He's from there too!

He hangs around a few of my conversations; I KNOW he's on my exercise diary journal if that helps smiley - smiley

And why don't South Africans like Australians?

He did eventually respond.

As long as ol' Shane is around I think the SA's will always dislike the Aussies smiley - winkeye.

*quickly washes her mouth out with soap, after catching herself talking about cricket, and slaps herself on the hand...*

Bad eternity, bad, bad eternity!!

Sorry, I can't start this, just now someone will think I actually enjoy cricket, and I definitely wouldn't want that, I'll ruin my reputation!

*has a sip of smiley - coffee to get rid of the taste of soap*

I'm happy to say that I'm pretty well oblivious to cricket smiley - smiley In my P.O.V, the only way to watch cricket is on the news: all the good bits and none of the long waits in between. smiley - smiley

But I don't mind talking to cricket fans. Especially nice ones like you (if of course you were a cricket fan smiley - winkeye)

Hope you don't mind me just helping myself to the coffee.

A friend of ours has been over there *points in the general direction of Australia* since the beginning of February. He is wanting to get his commercial pilots license, and discovered that down under would be about the best place to go about getting it.

Whereabouts are you in Australia?

Sad, Mad or Bad? - I always wanted to be a dino, but alas, I'm just old.

I'm in Sydney. smiley - smiley

Really? I have an American friend who wants to be a pilot in outback Australia. He hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know what his chances would be like at all...

The perpetually boiling kettle

Post 17

Eternity (Ace)

What on earth would a pilot be doing in the outback? Surely there can't be much need for pilots out there?

I would imagine though that it would be tremendously beautiful! I 'spose that might be enough of a reason.

Well there'd be a demand for supplies. And there's the flying doctor service too.

It IS beautiful, in an Australian kind of way. smiley - smiley

*shakes her head to remove the picture of a smiley - doctor with wings attached to his back and carrying a little medical bag*

Hopefully one day (in the not too distant future) I will get to have a look for myself. I have two brothers in NZ. So if we go over to see them, we will hopefully make a point of going to Australia too.

Despite all the problems over here, SA is still an amazingly beautiful country!
