I did post a link somewhere....
Though as I said you might not enjoy it....
Most of the people on it seem to be from the Fort William area...

I did grow some Cana Lilies in my back garden for a while... They're exotic and supposed to be taken in for the winter As an experiment suggested by my Mum I left them, they thrived.... It's the south west we can do that kind of thing... mild winters etc. Because no one in the family would look after the aspidistra we had I planted that outside too....I planted it in the shade of a fence...It got a bit sunburnt at times but thrived for a few years.... I won't even mention my ponds....
I regret not having a garden these days... But the only thing that made me interested in it was hating cutting the grass...
I like ponds and the wildlife contained therein.
A while back I spent almost half a day watching a dragon fly hatch from its larval stage.
I'm dull like that

I don't think it is dull to watch dragon fliesI see them when I visit the pond at a nearby farm, well I visit the ducks and swans more than the pondI am crazy(guess you gathered that already)about nature and wildlife.Ponds are great places to see all manner of creatures and I love to see the changing light across the water
We have much harsher weather here and have seen the hardiest perennials bite the dust in Spring never mind winter.I couldn't imagine life without a garden!

I can.
No more mowing grass....
I do miss the fish and the frogs and newts though....
I hope the people that took over my old place keep them all going nicely...

I think you miss the lawn mowing and you must miss the frogs
I got a touch sunburnt and have turned a wonderful scarlet colourI would quite like it if it wasn't so sore, and I matched my Tshirt perfectly

Can't you still have a small pond?or don't you have any garden?
Did you keep fish in your pond?
Told you I was curious
Somerset
Ash Posted Jun 22, 2005
Answers are a) No
b) Yes, I don't have any garden
c) Yes and a terrapin.
Wasn't "I am a curious lobster" a book title or something?
Somerset
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jun 22, 2005
Terrapin and how could you bear to say goodbye, guess you must of really hated mowing the lawn!
Yes am sure I should have a book written about melike Alice through the looking glass but much more red
Somerset
Ash Posted Jun 22, 2005
I had no choice in that one... The fish had to trust to luck and the good graces of the new tenents.....The terrapin was rehomed.

Was a while ago now and she wasn't the biggest animal I had to trust to others keeping...
So it goes.
Have you ever read Kurt Vonnegut?
Somerset
Ash Posted Jun 26, 2005
He wrote "Slaughterhouse 5" and "Welcome to the Monkey House", it's kind of SF satire....
It's generally where the phrase "So it goes.", comes from.
Slaughter House 5 (I no longer have a copy so forgive me if I misquote) starts like this....
"Listen, Billy Pilgrim is trapped in time" and ends like this. "Poo tee wheet."
I'm not giving anything away, it tells you that in the first paragraph...
They made a film of it... The film's okay.
It's a bit like the film version of Catch 22, genius in places but not really up to the book.
