how do you create a guestbook ive looked at the guideml clinic and i got lost

Not sure about this one - I just had a try on my own page and it didn't work

This should create a Guestbook for your personal space. Add this code whereever you like on your personal space.

By the way, if it gets used a lot, you can stop new threads being created using the guestbook, and instead set it to add to an existing thread. To do this, replace FORUM="122233" with INREPLYTO="[posting number]". To find the posting number, hover the mouse over the first 'Reply' link in the thread to which you'd like to add postings. You'll see a URL ending with AddThread?inreplyto=123456789. In this example, 123456789 is the posting number you should use.

These things are much clearer when explained, erm, clearly. I'm usually pretty good with instructions. The first thing I did when I read the post from lynsey was to check the page in the GuideML Clinic, but it has to be said the directions there are a bit opaque. I think it makes the coding look more difficult than it actually is. It's hard going, is the clinic.
