Personally I'd just go for a damn good night.
Lets see, when was the last big rock gig I went to...
Alice Cooper, Brutal Planet tour at Wembley arena, Dio supporting.
Shame me and my mate had seen both gigs at better venues the year previous (Alice at Hammersmith Apollo and Dio at the Forum, Kentish Town).
Reminds me of my first big gig. My mates 18th birthday (ish) and we went to see Dio at the Apollo, Ardwick !

Alice was great last year, again on the Monsters of Rock - hope this is going to be a regular thing at the MEN it's a great venue, the only one I know that lets you take 
to your seat

I've onl;y been to the NYNEX/MEN once and that was for a Jarre gig a long time back. Still as arena type venues go it's not that big (you can see from the back to the front) and it's easy to get to from here
