I really thought I had a thread here, but now that I think about it, I think we've talked more on the phone than here!

Anyway, have a mufflewhump!

Ooh - thanks Amy - a mufflewhump is exactly what a person needs on a Saturday morning - I went to my office Christmas pary yesterday and I'm a little, erm, tired today! That's my word for it. smiley - smiley

We started at 12.30 with a couple of smiley - ales, then ten-pin bowling (at which I stink, as you'll have read) - but I wasn't quite the worst, which was nice). Then we went for a Chinese banquet smiley - drool at which I split a bottle of sake with somebody who didn't really help me with it as much as I'd expected. Then off to trawl Manchester's bars for a night of smiley - ales and smiley - stiffdrinks and dancing. Got in around midnight - it's fair to say that I had a good time... smiley - drunksmiley - bigeyes

So yes - a mufflewhump is just the ticket! smiley - biggrin

Rather busier than normal! smiley - bigeyes I spent half of yesterday dozing on the settee like a smiley - cat. Well, with the smiley - cat to be accurate! I haven't got the stamina I used to have - I can still party, but I pay the price the next day. I don't mind though - I don't do it often. smiley - smiley

Today will be a lazy Sunday afternoon, I suspect. I don't think the Admiral has any plans and in any event she has a bad cold and won't feel like doing much. So it'll be read the Sunday papers, wash the cars, clean out the aquarium, visit my mum and, erm, ... that's about it.

That's more my normal pace! smiley - winkeye

"Where've ya been?" - well, not keeping a very efficient eye on my messages, that's for sure! smiley - winkeye

How's it going for you, Amy - and how are the Paperkids - still the two or are you starting another page?

I spend a lot of my on-line time on football (soccer, if you like) message boards. I'm a big football fan and my team, after decades of being heroic failures, are finally going places - I'm very excited about it.

I still come on hootoo now and then and indulge in drive-by postings in Ask, but I don't keep my finger on the pulse so if you leave me a message I can be very slow to respond, although I generally get there in the end! smiley - smiley I'm not really getting back into things here like I used to, I used to sit online for hours, and I don't seem to have time for that these days. smiley - erm

Maybe now hootoo is back as a Beeb-free website (I've a lot of time for Auntie Beeb, but I think this place is better as a standalone) it will pick up again - I did enjoy a lot of time here back in the day.

Not sure what the people I used to know in the Manchester crowd are up to these days - Granny Weatherwax is friends with me on Facebook, but I'm not very active on FB and nor is she from what I see. Thing about Facebook is that if somebody actually messages me there I get an email, so I do respond.

Well, I've just gotten internet back (hadn't had it since midJuly) so I've been a bit slow to respond, toosmiley - winkeye

I'm going to be working on an entry telling what all's been going on since July, because it's been hectic-ish. Still just the 2 girls, though we have added a quadruped to the household, who also happens to be female, so Tom's even more outnumberedsmiley - laugh

I'm on FB too, and should be relatively easy to find--last time I looked, a few months ago, I was 1 of 4 with my name. I tend to not remember h2g2ers' real names very well, so I base granting friend requests on whether I know the mutual friendssmiley - laugh

Ooh, I get irritable if I don't have access to the interwebs. Had a problem with my modem and had to wait just a couple of days to get hold of a new one. I was surprised how much I missed it - even though I still had internet access at work and could still get online at home on my phone.

I'll log onto FB later and add you, I'm Mick but I really wouldn't have expected you to remember that. Not that I'm very active on FB as you'll see.

I have been careful with the acquisition of quadrupeds, our sadly departed smiley - dog, smiley - cat and smiley - bunny were all male, and our current smiley - cat is no exception, so I don't get outnumbered. We do like to have at least one small furry friend around the place. I want another smiley - dog but haven't been able to persuade the Admiral yet. smiley - sadface

Of course when I say "our" smiley - cat I do so in the knowledge that as far as he's concerned it's the other way around - we're his staff!
