Apparently, I'm a Plummie

Okay, so going by my normal pattern of days on the internet and days off the internet, I should have been around last weekend, scouting PR in hopes of getting my badge back, delving into the Underguide and nabbing gems to polish, finishing up my Fanny Brice effort...

But the truth is this:

My mother convinced me I should read the book 'One For the Money' by Janet Evanovich. It's the first book in an ongoing series about a bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum.

So I did.

Then I read 'Two For the Dough'

Then 'Three...' and I guess you can see where this is going.

Long story short - Saturday morning when I should have rolled into work looking forward to two full days of no pressing projects or urgent responsibilities and unlimited internet time, I was just finishing up 'Hot Six'. By Monday evening I wrapped up 'Ten Big Ones'. I'm ready to tackle my mother for the 11th book (she hasn't started it yet and I'm impatient - the paperback doesn't come out for another month!).

In a word - I'm hooked.

If you haven't read any of these, pick up the first one. If you're endeared enough to go on, read the second. By the fourth you'll be an addict.

I've even been inspired to come up with some worthwhile entry on the subject, if I ever put the books down long enough to organise my thoughts I'm sure it will come together.

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

I can sympathise. I have a serious Aubrey/Maturin addiction. I'm trying to control it by only buying the next one in the series if I happen to ferret it out in a second-hand shop (as opposed to stocking up for the future).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
