Lucien

Hi I'm very different to most of the people you know.

I'm an inventor. A tinkerer. A scientist.
I have been working in AI on the fabled 'Strong AI' or sentient machine for about 15 years since I made a discovery in 1991. If I ever succeed in making my machine work it will make me one of the most famous people in the world, and possibly the richest.
I am also writing a book on the subject "How to make Strong AI work" which is about AI, - its applications ,how to use it, moral implications, problems with it, and adapting society to it.
I'm also very fascinated by hyperspace and relativity, and other advanced physics. I have been studying gravity engines for many years and have got quite far in my research, but this has just shown me how colossally difficult they are. (I may write a section on it sometime.)

But everything went wrong .. My Disaster
Fame success adulation. Scary thought? Well it is for me, it was a small part of what pushed me right over the edge and in 1997 in the third year of my degree I had a breakdown due to stress that put me in hospital (mental hospital). There the extremely competent 'doctors' gave me the wrong drug - either Droperidol trifluoperizine or paroxetine - I began loosing my reality and went completely mad for over a year, one of the worst experiences a human can ever have. Over the next three or four years I slowly regained my sanity but have been hugely scarred. I also seem to have developed a deep unreasoning fear of psychiatrists and other doctors.

And I met the worst human on Earth.
... And one might even say .. " <censored by author>
job near ... prison guard ... rapist ...incest. ..dead eyes
was a murderer ..aggressive .. ***t of a man.
(Terrence Win is extremely violent - approach with caution.)
Another scar.

Now the bad bits past.
I love sci-fi, music, movies, video. I'm into video in a big way
and have about 400 tapes which I am slowly putting onto computer and replacing with DVD‘s.

Fav Films TV everything.

Dr Who, Blakes 7, Star Trek and Star Wars. Aliens, Alien 2 is the best Alien film although I loved them all. Let us not forget the Vindicator and Terminator. Or the wonderful classic 2001. Silent Running, Battle Beyond the Planets, Jupiter Moon.
I like plenty of modern sci-fi Andromeda, Farscape, Firefly, Event Horizon though its flawed, The Invisible Man (series). (and of course)
Hellboy,
I was also a big reader of 2000AD, fav strips Ro-busters, The Stainless Steel Rat, Nemesis, Judge Dred and others.
I have read quite a lot to -
Early days - John Wyndham, Fredric Pohl, Isaac Asimov, Larry Niven,
Terry Nation, Samuel R Delany, EE Doc Smith, Harry Harrison
Intermediate - Alan Dean Foster, David Eddings, Terry Brooks, Steven King, C.J. Cherryh, H.G. Wells, Arthur C. Clark, Ian Donaldson, William Gibson, Walter Jon Williams, Bruce Sterling,
Newer - Piers Anthony, Dan Simons, Clive Barker, Tim Powers,
Recent - Orson Wells
I estimate the best part of a thousand books. I was a particular fan of 50's sci-fi

In fact you might say I'm a rabid scifi and fantasy nut.

This is Far from Fininshed.
