Jim Moore aka IonFactoryArchitect
I am a Software Engineer -- an oxymoron because the engineering of software is an ideal rather than a recognized branch of engineering. I am trying to change that situation and an involved with several efforts to provide a proper engineering basis for software development and to increase the professional status and responsibility of software engineers. For example, I participate in the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge, a project of the IEEE Computer Society, to develop a Guide to the material that all software engineers should know. I also participate in the development of international standards for software engineering through the IEEE Standards Association and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7. This work allows me to travel -- maybe more than I like.
