What to write about tonight? With all the upheaval of going to the concert last night, I totally misunderstood the gravity of the Paris attacks. In the car on the way home, they were commentating on the football match (friendly between France and Germany, in the stadium which was really near the scene), but said it was difficult and probably no one cared who scored or won because everyone was worried about what was going on outside the stadium.
I heard an interview with the commentator this afternoon, talking about what an awkward situation he was in, having to talk non-stop doing radio commentary, but not really being able to say much, whilst only getting half the story of what was going on via his headphones.

And now on the front page of the BBC news online is a railway crash - also in France - killing quite a few people. They were testing the Strasbourg to Paris TGV which may well prove an option for us if travelling that way. Worrying. There doesn't seem to be any indication that this was sabotage - as it was a test run, they should have been prepared for things going wrong. And shouldn't have let so many people travel on it.

The train crash is apparently most likely due to excessive speed, just an accident. Looking out for more news about it.
