Have you got some nice vocal arrangements then, or shall we improvise? (I would love to see Queen's stuff written down, quite seriously.)

As a matter of fact, I do have an arrangement for 4 voices of a Beatles song. Called ...erm, I forgot the name. The lyrics are something like
"Now it's time to say goodnight..."
Oh, and of course, "Yesterday"
So mail me up if you want a midi version.

Oh, and while I'm here, you might as well include me on your list. And in case you're asking, I sing BASS

Blatherskite the Mugwump - Bandwidth Bandit Posted Jun 27, 2001
True story: I came across sheet music for "Bohemian Rhapsody" one day while digging through my teacher's archives. This was in 1992, right after the song was made overwhelmingly popular again by appearing in the movie "Wayne's World." We got excited and asked the teacher if we could do it, but he turned us down. We were already working on a very difficult jazz number called "Johnny One Note", and quite frankly, it was kicking our ass.

Poor Johnny one note, sings out with gusto
and just o
verpowers the crowd
So sing Johnny one note out loud.
It is a daft song, isn't it?

A very daft song, and very difficult, too. Six parts, plus a solo. We invested all sorts of hours, working through lunch, in order to get it down. We put it away for a time, because it just wouldn't gel. Then, on a lark, during rehearsal preceeding our last performance, we gave it a shot. It worked. It sounded fabulous. We exchanged grins all around.
Several of us immediately demanded that we perform it that night. We were shouted down. We wasted all that work. Cowardice has no place in music.

Hi, Dragonfly:
Some members of my choral society sang a barbershop arrangement
of "When I'm 64" by the Beatles a couple years ago. The group as a
whole sang a medley of Beach Boys songs around the same time.
So, these kinds of pieces are out there. Is there a music shop near
you that might have them?
I looked at your list of choral proposals, and saw many wonderful
pieces. Not many well-known pieces are missing, but I'd like to
suggest Medndelsshon's "Elijah," or Mozart's "Requiem" and
"C-Minor Mass."
Good luck

I'd like to suggest David Fanshawe's 'African Sanctus', which is one of my favourite pieces, full of contrasts and excerpts from real field recordings and very moving. YAY!!!
