Just to clarify, Foxes are not related to Wolves, much in the same way that Lions are not related to Tigers.

Well that is true but they are the canid family

To be honest, though, the Tiger and the Lion are more closely related than a Wolf is to a fox.
Saying that a Wolf is related to a Fox is like saying that a Brit is related to a Spaniard, whereas saying that a Lion is related to a Tiger is like saying that a Chinese and a Mongolese are related.

See, the Wolf (Canis Lupus)and the Fox (Vulpes Vulpes) are in deed Canids, however they are from two totally different subspeices of the Canidae family, whereas the Lion (Panthera Leo) and the Tiger (Panthera Tigris) are members of the same subspeices of the Felidae family.
INterestingly enough, the Felidae family all have a genetic defect that prevents them from tasting sweetness.

Ummm.. Yes in deed it was..
Anyhow, did you find anything out about the relatsions between Wolf and Fox?
I'd say that unlike the Lions and Tigers, who are pretty closely related and can have offspring (Ligers, for instance) whereas a Wolf can't breed with a Fox.

Did you scroll down the page and read point 2? Predatory Attacks. It compares these with rabid attacks. Quite different.
