Awww, I was going to do a picture for that, but never got around to it. May still do one
If you'd like any help on the other one, let me know. I found some fun things about the Dutch Draft for you!

BMT Posted Nov 18, 2008
Hi again, I'll take you up on your offer re the Dutch draft. I'll take another look at it after the Hull Meet this w/e. The info I got was dire to say the least.
I'll give you a shout early next week if thats ok?
You were going to draw a Jutland then? I'd love to see that, I can draw birds, (err, feathered ones that is
), but struggle with other animals.

Oooh, a Meet!
I'll be *very* busy at work next week, so might not have time. But you can try...
And I'll give the picture my best go. No promises for accuracy.
Only mammal (besides people) I've done for the Guide is an elk. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/blobs/moose_promo.jpg

Thanks.
It's a combination. I do them the same as my comics - draw the outlines on paper, scan, then colour in Photoshop.

I'm a long way off that standard. Then again I only took up art seriously this last 12 mths or so. It was part of a medical rehab type scheme. I get a couple of hours a week on a 'Art for Life' course, just doing basic stuff really. Considering I've never drawn as such since school guess I've a way to go yet.

I'm currently working on 2 projects. One is a pen and ink of an Eagle and a water colour of a Golden eagle. Progress I would say is 'slow and steady'. The water colour is proving the hardest.

I'm certainly no good at watercolour! I love Photoshop, because it has an "undo" button.

Hi Mal, having just started my Open Uni course I'm somewhat pre-occupied at the moment. Its early days and I'm still trying to sort some sort of schedule for studies. Its been many a year since I was last in formal education and the first time on this scale.
Hootoo, like a few other things are taking a back seat for now until I get more sorted.
As I've been awarded various grants for the open uni it's only right and proper I make that my priority for now.
I reckon it'll be another 4 to 6 weeks before I get into a position of knowing what sort of timescales I need to allow for study purposes.
The recommendation from my tutor is to allow a minimum of 14 hours a week in 2 week blocks.
I've just completed the first 2 weeks and have actually spent a total of 17 hours so not far off.
There are 'day school' sessions each month as well.
Its all good fun, certainly keeping the little grey cells active if nothing else.
Oh, btw, I'm on the XP machine in a different browser hence using my second persona.

Which courses are you taking?
I'm more or less done with Uni, for the moment.
And why do you need a separate account for each computer?
Hiya Mal
BMT Posted Feb 21, 2009
Hiya, the second account came about when my original was hit by a glitch and I couldn't post from it. I could log in, change my ps but not post to conversations.
Not long after it got sorted I'd opened a new account on the XP driven pc and decided to keep it for experimental purposes. I use the XP PC to try out all manner software and browsers. I don't keep anything 'vital' on it in case it crashes or whatever. I try to reproduce errors and problems to find solutions for others.
I'm doing a Bsc in IT and computing.
I'm self taught with all things pc, web design, programming etc and decided to try and get some formal qualifications and make some sense out of it all, hopefully anyway.

Hope you enjoy the courses, then, and learn a little more!
I'm afraid I regard my computer skills as akin to the maths ones - good to know, and I'm always willing to learn them, but they're a tool rather than an end in and of themselves.
I still don't see why you need a separate hootoo account, though

"I still don't see why you need a separate hootoo account, though"
I don't now the original works again. I just kept this one going but making it clear we were one and the same person and that I wasn't trolling or spamming.
There was nothing sinister or covert about it. It was several weeks before I could use the original account fully, we still don't know why the glitch occurred, the account wasn't under moderation or anything. I couldn't post anywhere on the BBC site with the original account yet could with this one.
Its sorted now but I'll keep them both going for the time being.

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Feb 21, 2009
Oh, ok. I was mildly wondering that someone obviously computer-savvy like you didn't know they could log into the same account from different computers!
Hiya Mal
BMT Posted Feb 22, 2009
Like I said, it didn't matter what pc I was on or what browser I used, logging in wasn't the issue, it was not being able to post. When I tried to post I got returned to a page that asked me to 'create a free membership' before I could post.
At least I didn't succumb to the other glitch that wiped one's ps when alterations were done, like the Prof, among others, did on a few occasions.

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Feb 22, 2009
Very strange! It's probably a good idea to make an offline copy of one's PS, but I can't be bothered to keep it updated
Maybe after I finally finish doing my PS.
Hiya Mal
BMT Posted Feb 22, 2009
I did risk taking something out of mine the other day and the ps is still there so a case of so far so good.
I've been playing with that new Chrome browser, it seriously lacks add-ons to make things work. Time to go back to the 'proper pc' now and see what my study schedule is for next week.
ttfn.
