Sho - employed again!

I can't belive I posted her name - it's what comes of drive-by posting.

Btw - we have nearly (because we ate some) 1 litre of New York Super Fudge Chunk ice-cream here. Actually we didn't strictly follow the recipe - in place of chocolate covered nuts, we used those mini Daim chunks.
smiley - drool <--- I don't often use that for food!

You're too late - all gone. Yum yum.

Next time we'll put chocolate covered raisins in it too.

This week we'll be mostly making blackberry yoghurt icecream. Slurp!

And don't worry about calling attention to the post - I'm sure nobody but the participants read it.

Hey, Sho, feel like collaborating on an entry? Robyn and I are doing one on how to groom a horse, and thought you might have something to contribute as well, if you want to. smiley - smiley

well I would - but I know absolutely nothing at all about grooming a horse. I think I've had a curry comb in my hand once. And I was holding it for the groom!

I know - terrible isn't it. I've mucked out a stable, I've ridden. I've even given them pills in hollowed out apples. But... I'm allergic to their fur. Even being close when one is being brushed is a nightmare. (so it's more likely the dust in them than the hair)

smiley - erm Awww, I didn't know that. smiley - hug

Then you'll need to keep a Bashkir Curly. People aren't allergic to them, generally, even if they can't be around other horses!

I think it's more the dust and hair that comes out when you groom them. I'm the same with most furry animals. Except Guinea Pigs - I only have to look at a photo of one and I'm on the floor wheezing. (and I adore the grumpy little pests so it's quite sad for me)

Exactly - since they have curly coats, they don't shed much - like poodles. smiley - laugh

Oooooh smiley - loveblushsmiley - pony You're lucky!

My mother wants a Trakhener or a Hannoveraner, because those are what she learned to ride on. smiley - laugh

Those military horses are great for learning to ride on - they aren't frightened by anything and are really calm.

Yes, I knew someone who'd adopted a retired police horse - you could do *anything* with that beast!

smiley - laugh Not quite what I meant smiley - winkeye

I still prefer something a bit smaller and fuzzier myself. Icelandics, Haflinger, Fjord Horses...

I rather fancy one of those... hmmm how do you spell it?... Falabella ponies. Instead of a dog.

smiley - laugh What would you do with it?

I'm just reminded of my uncle's confession last Christmas... He was a cavalry Colonel and kept a horse long after he retired - some kind of big warmblood.

But he said he confessed that he'd also take off for a weeklong trip every year to ride Icelandic horses, simply for a change of pace, because just dressage got too boring!

Dressage? smiley - zzz

I'd just take the pony for walks and so on.
