Why did you choose bagpuss? I assosiate this name with the childrens tv program!!

The TV show would be why I chose it. I also naïvely thought it'd be unique, but I occasionally find another has been around. A search for me on h2g2 reveals about 8 alter egos, but I'm the only one who stayed for a long time.
