I noticed in the Quiz thread that you mentioned Guisborough

Many years ago I had a friend who came from RedCar and I remember that the address had Guisborough in it - is RedCar near Guisborough?
Is it a big place? If it isn't do you share a phone book of something?? Would you be able to check the phone book for me if I asked you real nice??

Your friend can't have been actually from Redcar if the address mentioned Guisborough - Redcar's a postal town in its own right (I'm pretty sure of that, anyway), but probably somewhere like Dunsdale, which is nearer Redcar, but may well come under Guisborough. Anyroad, I'm in Canada now, so unable to lay my hands on the phone book, which would be the same one (stretches from Thornaby to Whitby as I recall).

Just on the off-chance, what was your friend's name?

Thanks for your answer - yes, it WAS Dunsdale - I remember no the address I used to write was "Dunsdale near Guisborough"

It was Linda and Cliff Pollard - I know that they had a daughter Elizabeth and, I think, one other daughter. The family had been in Redcar for years apparently. It was years ago - but it would be nice to re-establish the friendship, even if only a cyber visit.
